Barbara Porter
February 17, 1965 — February 11, 2026
It is with heavy hearts and profound sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved Barbara Porter, who left this world with grace and serenity on February 11, 2026, just shy of her 61st birthday. Born on February 17, 1965, in the charming city of Savannah, Georgia, Barbara was a beacon of love, wisdom, and kindness to all who had the privilege to know her.
Barbara was the cherished daughter of the late John and Mary Smith, who instilled in her the values of compassion and resilience that she carried throughout her life. She was a proud alumna of Coffee County High School, graduating with the Class of 1956, where she first demonstrated her remarkable passion for learning and her unwavering dedication to her community.
Barbara lived a life full of warmth and generosity. She was a devoted mother to Ashley Wheaton and Treymayne Porter, who were the light of her life and the source of her greatest pride. Her nurturing spirit also extended to her six beloved grandchildren, each of whom she adored deeply and who brought her immense joy and laughter.
Barbara's life was a testament to the power of love and family. She was known for her infectious smile, her unwavering support, and her ability to make everyone feel special and valued. Her home was always open to friends and family, a place where love and laughter were in abundant supply.
As we come together to celebrate Barbara's remarkable life, a service will be held in her honor on June 18, 2026, at 12:00 PM at St. Mary's Church of God, located at 1222 W Dubois St., Douglas, GA. We invite all who knew and loved Barbara to join us as we remember and cherish the beautiful moments and memories she gifted us.
Though our hearts are heavy with the loss of such a wonderful soul, we find comfort in knowing that Barbara's legacy of love and kindness will forever live on in the hearts of those she touched. We will miss her dearly, but we are eternally grateful for the time we shared with her and the everlasting impact she has made on our lives.
May she rest in peace and may her spirit continue to guide and inspire us.
