Barbara Pollok Crumb, a cherished mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully at home on March 28, 2026, after a brief illness. Born on February 10, 1940, in Durham, North Carolina, Barbara was the beloved daughter of the late William Pollok and Clara Gresham Pollok. Her life was a testament to love, resilience, and dedication to family and community. Barbara's life journey began in the vibrant town of Durham, where she spent her formative years. She graduated from Northampton High School in 1958, marking the beginning of a life filled with hard work and commitment. She built a fulfilling career at St. Joe Container Company, where she worked diligently as a Corrugator Planner for over two decades. Barbara's meticulous nature and strong work ethic left a lasting impact on her colleagues, many of whom became lifelong friends. In her personal life, Barbara found immense joy and fulfillment in her family. She was predeceased by her loving husband, Joseph Allan Crumb, her beloved son, Michael Allan Crumb, and her dear brother, William Pollok Jr. Despite these profound losses, Barbara's spirit remained unbroken, and her love for her surviving family members deepened with each passing day. Left to cherish her memory are her devoted daughter, Kathy Crumb Treanor, and her husband, Walter John Treanor. Barbara was the proud grandmother of Travis John Treanor and Evan Scott Treanor, who brought immeasurable joy and pride to her life. She is also survived by her sister-in-law, Kay Downing, and her husband, Barry Downing, her brother-in-law, Ron Crumb, and his wife, Geri Crumb, and her cousin, Betty Ann Hunter. Along with multiple nieces and nephews, Barbara’s family was her greatest treasure, and her legacy of love will continue to inspire them. Barbara's warmth extended beyond her immediate family. Her home was a sanctuary of kindness, where friends and family were always welcomed with open arms and a comforting smile. Her generosity and compassion left an indelible mark on everyone she encountered, and her community is richer for having known her. A service to honor Barbara's life will be held at Holloman-Brown Funeral Home Great Bridge Chapel, located at 524 Cedar Road, Chesapeake, VA 23322. The family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to the Chesapeake Regional Medical Center 5 East staff and Dr. Jeffrey Holladay for their exemplary care and compassion during Barbara's final days. As we gather to celebrate Barbara's life, we remember her as a beacon of love and strength, whose presence graced the lives of all she met.
