With hearts full of love and cherished memories, we announce the peaceful passing of Barbara Pollok Crumb on March 28, 2026, at her home, surrounded by her loved ones, after a brief illness. Born on February 10, 1940, in the charming town of Durham, North Carolina, Barbara graced the world with her warmth, kindness, and unwavering devotion to family and community.
Barbara was the beloved daughter of William Pollok and Clara Gresham Pollok. She shared a close-knit family bond with her late brother, William Pollok Jr., and found immense joy in the companionship of her dear cousin, Betty Ann Hunter, along with multiple nieces and nephews who brought laughter and light into her life.
In 1958, Barbara celebrated an educational milestone by graduating from Northampton High School, where she cultivated lifelong friendships and a love for learning. Her keen intellect and meticulous nature led her to a rewarding career as a Corrugator Planner at St. Joe Container Company, where she dedicated over twenty years of service before retiring. Barbara's colleagues remember her not only for her professional acumen but also for her generous spirit and ability to brighten any room with her infectious smile.
Barbara was preceded in death by her devoted husband, Joseph Allan Crumb, with whom she shared a beautiful life filled with love, adventure, and countless memories. She was also predeceased by her son, Michael Allan Crumb, whose memory she carried tenderly in her heart every day.
Left to cherish her memory is her loving daughter, Kathy Crumb Treanor, who was her pride and joy, and her two dear grandsons, Travis John Treanor and Evan Scott Treanor, who lit up her world with their laughter and accomplishments. Barbara's family was her world, and she was their guiding star.
Barbara was blessed with a supportive extended family, including her sister-in-law Kay Downing and husband Barry Downing, and her brother-in-law Ron Crumb and wife Geri Crumb. Together, they shared countless family gatherings, holidays, and celebrations, cementing a legacy of love and unity.
The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to the Chesapeake Regional Medical Center 5 East staff and Dr. Jeffrey Holladay for their exemplary care and compassion during Barbara's final days, ensuring her comfort and dignity.
A service to celebrate Barbara's remarkable life will be held at Holloman-Brown Funeral Home Great Bridge Chapel, located at 524 Cedar Road, Chesapeake, VA 23322. Family and friends are invited to join in honoring her memory and sharing stories of the joy and kindness she brought into their lives.
