BARBARA MABRY

Barbara Mabry, a beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully on May 4, 2026. Born on April 9, 1940, in Dallas, TX, Barbara was the cherished daughter of Margaret Simpson. Barbara's life was a tapestry woven with love, dedication, and compassion. She was married to the late John Mabry, with whom she built a family filled with warmth and laughter. Her legacy continues through her loving daughter, Tracy Mabry, and her adored grandchildren, Briana Mabry, Raquel Kirton, and Darryl Kirton. Barbara was also blessed with four great-grandchildren: Tajanae Fane, Joshlyn Phipps, Joshua Phipps, and Jaxon Phipps. Barbara was predeceased by her grandmother Corine Jones, her mother Margaret Simpson, and her sister Dorothy Houston. She was also preceded in death by her dear aunts Mary Francis Williams, Esterline Duncan, Doris Spraggins, Janette Turner, and her cousins Pearline Adams, Lois Vercher, Patsy Jean, and Sabra Lee. She leaves behind cherished cousins Yolanda Skipper, Robert Turner, and Darlene Spraggins. Barbara's life was one of service and care. She attended Tegue Elementary and Central West High School, where she discovered her passion for helping others. She began her career as a cook in her twenties, later becoming a devoted homemaker, and ultimately found her true calling as a medical assistant, a role in which she touched countless lives with her kindness and skill. Her faith was an integral part of her life. She was a devoted member of the Laurel Street Church of Christ in East Palo Alto before moving to Fresno, where she became a cherished member of the North Ave Church of Christ. Barbara's love for her faith was evident in her enthusiasm for sharing stories about Christ with everyone she met. Barbara's hobbies were as vibrant and varied as her personality. She had a passion for sewing, cooking, and crafting, often creating beautiful pieces to share at bazaars and festivals. Her creativity and warmth were evident in everything she did, and she brought joy to those around her with her infectious smile and generous spirit. A service celebrating Barbara's remarkable life will be held on August 1, 2026, at 12:00 PM at the North Ave Church of Christ in Fresno, CA. Family and friends are invited to gather to honor her memory and share in the stories and love she leaves behind. Barbara Mabry's life was a testament to the power of love, family, and faith. Her kindness and strength will forever remain in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to know her.
