Barbara Lynn Recla

Barbara Lynn Recla, a beloved member of the Sault Ste. Marie community, passed away peacefully at the age of 79 on October 4, 2026, at the Ball Hospice House, surrounded by her loved ones. Barbara was born on July 4, 1947, to Everett and Blanche (Willard) Berg in Crystal Falls, MI. She was predeceased by her parents; her sister, Irma and her husband, Robert Wiley; and her brother-in-law, Ponch Alexa. Barbara shared a beautiful life with her devoted husband of 60 years, Tom Recla. She is survived by her daughter, Cynthia (Terry) Reasoner of Traverse City, and her son, Richard (Dawn) Recla of Brimley, MI; grandchildren, Alyssa Rae Recla of Sault Ste. Marie, Nathan Richard Recla of Brimley, and Logan Catherine Reasoner of Traverse City. Her family also included her adored grandpups, Sadie and Finley. Barbara is also survived by her siblings, Joan Alexa, Joyce (James) Jauquet, Carol (Marvin) Driedric, Richard (Sandy Jensen) Berg, and Robert (Teri) Berg. She leaves behind a large extended family of cousins, nieces, and nephews. In accordance with Barbara's wishes, there will be no service. Donations may be made in her memory to the Ball Hospice House, where she spent her final days surrounded by love and care. Ball Hospice House is located at 308 W. 12th Ave., Sault Ste. Marie, MI 49873. She will be dearly missed but forever remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
