Barbara Lucille Nolan

Barbara Lucille Nolan, beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and cherished friend, peacefully passed away on August 24, 2026, surrounded by her loving family. Born on April 27, 1930, in Des Moines, Iowa, Barbara was the cherished daughter of Edward and Thelma Mack, who preceded her in death along with her beloved husband, Daniel B. Nolan, her sister Patricia Hathaway, her son Michael Nolan, and grandsons Donovan Nolan and Ammon Voge. Barbara was a beacon of warmth and intelligence throughout her life. She spent her formative years in Los Angeles, California, where she graduated from Belmont High School. Her thirst for knowledge led her to further her education, earning certifications in both the medical and legal assistance professions. Her sharp intellect was evident to all who knew her, as she had a remarkable ability to grasp new concepts with ease and a passion for literature that often saw her finishing novels in just one evening. A devoted member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Barbara found joy and fulfillment in her faith and community. She was also an enthusiastic participant in several bridge card clubs, where her strategic mind and friendly demeanor won her many friends. Barbara's life was a testament to creativity and excellence. As an accomplished homemaker, she found joy in cooking, sewing, crocheting, and home decorating. Her oil paintings were a true reflection of her artistic spirit and perfectionist nature. Her home was a haven of warmth and beauty, welcoming all who entered with her radiant smile and genuine hospitality. Family was the cornerstone of Barbara's life. She lovingly raised seven children: Kathy Utley (Sam), Daniel G. Nolan (Christine), Sandra Voge, Nancee Mooneyham (Eric), Wendy Kelly (Tom), Kelly Nolan (Nancy), and Patrick Nolan (Ralene). Her legacy continues to flourish through her 26 grandchildren and 50 great-grandchildren, each of whom she cherished deeply. Barbara's tender heart extended beyond her family to all living creatures, as she held a special love for animals. Her gentle spirit and unwavering love for her family were the hallmarks of her life, and her memory will forever be a guiding light for those she leaves behind. In addition to her children and grandchildren, Barbara is survived by her sister, Janet Heueisen, who shared many fond memories and a lifelong bond with her. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly suggests donations be made to a charity of their choice, in honor of Barbara's generous and compassionate spirit. Barbara Lucille Nolan's life was a tapestry of love, intelligence, and grace. She leaves behind a legacy of kindness and strength that will continue to inspire all who were fortunate enough to know her. She will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by her family, friends, and all those whose lives she touched.
