Barbara Lorraine George, born on April 29, 1943, in the warm embrace of Evansville, Indiana, peacefully left this world on June 20, 2026, at her daughter's home, surrounded by the family she cherished so dearly. After a long and courageous battle with illness, Barbara's journey came to a gentle close, leaving behind a legacy of love and faith that will continue to inspire all who knew her.
Barbara was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Jim George, with whom she shared 48 wonderful years of marriage. Their union, celebrated on Valentine's Day in 1964, was a testament to a love that was both profound and enduring, serving as a shining example of soulmates destined to journey through life together. She also joins her parents and three siblings in eternal rest.
Barbara's memory will be lovingly carried forward by her devoted children: Deborah (Charles) Lefevers of Hillsboro, Ohio; Lisa (Bob) Baker of Snohomish, Washington; Michael George of Tennessee; and Kathrine (James) Dearth of Monroe, Michigan. Her legacy extends further through her nine cherished siblings, thirteen beloved grandchildren, and six adored great-grandchildren, each a testament to the profound impact of her nurturing spirit.
A dedicated member of the Souls Harvest Church in Hillsboro, Ohio, Barbara's faith was the cornerstone of her life. She loved Jesus with her whole heart, soul, and mind, and this deep spirituality was reflected in her everyday actions and the warmth she extended to everyone she met. Her faith and love were guiding lights for her family and community, illuminating the path of kindness and compassion.
Barbara found immense joy in the company of her family, cherishing her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren as treasures beyond measure. Her home was always filled with laughter, love, and the delightful chaos of family gatherings—each moment a cherished memory in the making.
