Born on November 8, 1943, in Normal, Illinois, Barbara graced this world with her warmth, creativity, and boundless love for 82 vibrant years. Daughter of the late Henry and Esther Johnson, Barbara was a beacon of grace and compassion. Her life was marked by an enduring devotion to her family, her passions, and her community. She cherished her roots, having graduated from University High School in 1962 before pursuing her dreams at the Quincy Beauty Academy, where she earned a degree in cosmetology and modeling. Barbara was a woman of many talents. Her early career as a model and beautician laid the foundation for her later roles as a dedicated mother and a successful family travel agent. Her flair for beauty extended to her work as an interior decorator and an artist, where her exquisite taste and creative spirit shone brightly. Barbara's artwork, much like her life, was a testament to her vibrant imagination and her ability to see and create beauty in the world around her. Barbara's legacy is carried on by her beloved partner, Frank Musholt, and her devoted children: Brad (Patty Rueweler) and Tracy Rose (Kevin Schaffer). She was also the proud mother of the late Tammy Bocke Flagg (John and Erin Flagg). Her grandchildren, Blaise Rose (Danielle), Dallas Rose, Jaeden Flagg, Kendall Flagg, Kate Flagg, and Jack Flagg, as well as her great-grandchildren, Hunter Rose, Isabell Rose, William Rose, and Kinley Rose, were the lights of her life. She leaves behind her cherished nephew, Kirk (Elizabeth Traiteur) Kuehling. The passing of Barbara reunites her with her parents, sister Phyllis Kuehling, niece Deanna Kuehling, and her beloved daughter Tammy. Her family takes comfort in knowing that she is surrounded by those she loved. Barbara's life was one of service and dedication. She was a former member of both the Quincy Service League and the Garden Club in Redington Beach, Florida. Her love for travel, gardening, decorating, and painting resonated with all who knew her, and she was always willing to lend a hand with her versatile talents. Her smile could light up a room, and her presence made every space feel like home. A celebration of Barbara's life, honoring her remarkable journey, will take place at a later date in Florida. To celebrate a life lived with passion, love, and elegance. Barbara L. Bocke's memory will forever be cherished by those who were fortunate enough to know her. Her legacy of love, beauty, and kindness will continue to inspire and uplift her family and friends for generations to come.
