Born on August 17, 1955, in Dallas, Texas, Barbara graced this world with her vibrant spirit and unwavering love for those around her. Barbara was the cherished daughter of the late Bobbie Jean Davenport and Tommie Jo Simpson, whose love and guidance she carried with her throughout her life. She is survived by her two loving children, Daniel and Cortea (Cortne), and her treasured grandchildren, Britnie and DeCarrion, who brought immense joy and pride into her life. Growing up in a close-knit family, Barbara shared an enduring bond with her siblings: Marie, David, Sharon, Diane, and Kristina. Her family was her world, and the love they shared was a testament to her nurturing and generous spirit. She leaves behind a host of other relatives and dear friends, whose lives she touched with her kindness and warmth. Barbara's life was rich with the simple pleasures she cherished. She had a great love for music, which filled her home and heart with joy. She was an avid fan of scary movies and never missed an episode of her favorite show, "The Young and the Restless." Her culinary skills were unmatched, and she delighted in cooking and sharing meals with her loved ones, creating memories that will be forever cherished. Though her formal education was an important part of her journey, it was her passion for life and her family that defined Barbara. Her kindness, compassion, and unwavering love will be remembered by all who knew her. A celebration of Barbara's life will be held on October 17, 2026, at 1:00 PM at Heavenly Gate Funeral Services, located at 702 Gatewood Rd, Garland, Texas 75043. Family and friends are invited to gather and honor the remarkable life of a woman who gave so freely of her love and wisdom. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to a charity of your choice, in memory of Barbara's generous spirit and her lifelong commitment to helping others.
