Barbara J. Renier

December 7, 1950 — October 3, 2026

It is with heavy hearts yet immense gratitude for a life well-lived that we announce the passing of Barbara J. Renier, who gained her wings on October 3, 2026, surrounded by her loved ones after a courageous battle with a long-term illness. Born on December 7, 1950, in Hot Springs, Arkansas, Barbara was the cherished daughter of Ora Lee Rucks and Ivy Renier, both of whom predeceased her. Barbara attended Booker T. Washington High School and furthered her education at Business College. She dedicated over 30 years of her life to her career as a chef at Piccadilly Restaurants and Aramark. Upon retirement, Barbara continued to serve her community with her culinary talents, preparing nourishing meals at the Tulsa Salvation Army. Her life was marked by her devotion to her family and her faith. Barbara was a loving mother to her children, Shalinda Smith, Lawrence Roberts II, Stacy Robinson, and Ronald Robinson Jr., and a proud grandmother to nine grandchildren and eighteen great-grandchildren. She shared a special bond with her siblings, Deborah Rucks, Eugen Allen, and Gregory Rucks, who survive her. Barbara was a member of Liberty World Outreach, where she found joy and purpose as a Life Skill Coach and in preparing meals for special events. Known affectionately as the "Greeting Card Queen," she never missed an opportunity to celebrate the birthdays and milestones of her family and friends. Her love for arts and crafts, word-find puzzles, and old movies, especially Westerns, was evident in the joyful moments she spent with her grandchildren. A service to celebrate Barbara's life will be held on October 9, 2026, at 2:00 PM at Greater Mount Rose Baptist Church, located at 4348 N. Lewis St., Tulsa, Oklahoma 74110. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of your choice in Barbara's memory. Barbara's legacy of love and kindness will forever remain etched in the hearts of all who had the privilege of knowing her. We are confident, I say, and willing rather to be absent from the body, and to be present with the Lord. 2 Corinthians 5:8 King James Version

In lieu of flowers, the family of Barbara J. Renier welcomes donations to a charity, nonprofit, church, or organization of your choosing.

To a Wonderful Loved Lady

"May you always walk in the heavens' light, with the Lord Almighty's love around you. Just so you know, for the happiness you gave us, no one will ever let that go. The day the Lord God Almighty called you home, it shattered our hearts to lose you, but you did not go alone; a part of us went with you. So many times, we talked and shared a word in prayer. Now we are visualizing many memories, as we smile and cry. If love could have only saved you, you would have never departed from us. We will all see you again when we get there. The Lord God Almighty be with you as you rest in peace. Love you dearly, your son, Ray Roberts II."
