Barbara Lenhardt

October 16, 1943 — September 5, 2026

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Barbara Lenhardt, a cherished wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend to many. Born on October 16, 1943, in Greenfield, Tennessee, Barbara was a beacon of love and compassion throughout her life. She left this world on September 5, 2026, leaving behind a legacy of warmth and kindness that will be remembered by all who knew her. Barbara was the beloved daughter of Fred and Velma Callins. In her early years, she cultivated a deep appreciation for life and the people around her, a sentiment that would guide her throughout her journey. On November 2, 1963, Barbara married the love of her life, Robert Lenhardt. Together, they shared 62 beautiful years, filled with adventure, laughter, and love. Their journey together was marked by extensive travels around the world, visiting favorite destinations such as Ireland, Germany, Hawaii, the Redwoods, and The Netherlands, creating memories that would last a lifetime. A dedicated professional, Barbara worked as an office controller for Hillendale Farms and Tampa Farm Service. Her career was marked by diligence, integrity, and a strong work ethic, qualities that she carried into every aspect of her life. Barbara was a woman of many passions. Her love for travel was matched only by her affection for her furry friends—Otto, Bear, Gidget, and Molly—who brought her endless joy. She had a fondness for Garfield, her favorite cartoon character, and a particular love for flamingos, which reflected her vibrant and colorful personality. Above all, Barbara was known for her enormous heart. She had an innate ability to make everyone feel valued and included. Her nurturing spirit was evident in her roles as a devoted mother to Pamela Burgett and Debbie Andrews, a caring aunt to Patricia Atkinson, and an adoring grandmother to Amy Morris and Christine Zaremba. Barbara's legacy lives on through her family: her husband Robert; daughters Pamela and Debbie and their spouses Gregory Burgett and Jeff Andrews; granddaughters Amy Morris and Christine Zaremba, along with grandson-in-law Aubrey Morris; and her great-grandchildren Keyanna Earle, Isabella Hammie, and Austin Morris. Each carries a piece of her spirit in their hearts. A service to honor Barbara's remarkable life will be held on October 17, 2026, at 12:00 PM at New Beginnings Christian Fellowship, located at 13672 CR-55, Foley, AL 36535. Family and friends are invited to come together to celebrate the life of a woman who touched so many lives with her kindness and generosity. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made in Barbara's memory to an organization that reflects her love for animals and her compassionate nature. Barbara Lenhardt will be dearly missed, but her spirit will continue to shine brightly in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to know her. Her life was a testament to the power of love and kindness, and her memory will be cherished forever.
