Barbara Burgess, cherished partner, devoted mother, and beloved aunt, peacefully departed this world on October 8, 2026, surrounded by the warmth of her family. Born on June 28, 1953, in Nashville, Tennessee, Barbara's life was a testament to love, resilience, and the deep connections she fostered with those around her. Barbara was the cherished daughter of Clifford Ethridge and Hazel Barnes, who preceded her in death. She shared a close bond with her siblings, sisters Hazel Tweedy, Patricia Fendley, Linda Raines, and brothers Richard and Dewayne Ethridge, who have also passed on but whose memories remained a cornerstone in her life. Her journey was beautifully intertwined with that of her devoted partner, Kenneth Parrish, whose unwavering support was a constant source of strength and joy. Together, they created a life filled with warmth, laughter, and love that extended to all who knew them. Barbara's heart was further enriched by her son, Bryan Burgess, who was her pride and joy. She took immense delight in watching him grow and thrive, always offering her guidance and love. Aunt Barbara, as she was affectionately known by her many nieces and nephews, held a special place in the hearts of Elizabeth Jones, Gina Meadows, Sharon Tweedy, Amy Rivera, Lucinda Fendley, Kelly Martinez, Twyla Simmons, Robert (Junior) Floyd, and David Floyd. Her nurturing spirit and infectious laughter left an indelible mark on each of them, creating cherished memories that will endure. Barbara's life was a tapestry woven with kindness, generosity, and an unwavering commitment to family and friends. She found joy in life's simple pleasures and had a remarkable ability to bring people together, creating a community of love and support wherever she went. In honor of Barbara's generous spirit, the family kindly requests that donations be made to a charity of one's choice, allowing her legacy of compassion and giving to continue. As we remember Barbara, we celebrate a life lived with grace, love, and unwavering dedication to those she held dear. She will be profoundly missed and forever cherished.
