Born on September 23, 1938, in Buffalo, New York, Barbara was a beacon of light and warmth to everyone she encountered throughout her remarkable 87 years. Barbara was the cherished daughter of Mabel and Kurt Borneman. She was preceded in death by her dear parents, her brothers Craig and Robert, and her beloved children William and Wendy. Despite these profound losses, Barbara’s spirit remained unbroken, continuously radiating love and joy to her surviving family and friends. A devoted mother, Barbara is survived by her daughters, Amy Thompson and Jennifer Harrington, who were the pride of her life. She was also the doting grandmother to seven grandchildren: Leah, Emily, and Eve Huttner, as well as Connor, Gabrielle, Emma, and Maxwell Bonerb. Her grandchildren were her greatest joy, and she delighted in their achievements and adventures, always encouraging them to pursue their dreams with passion and integrity. Barbara's professional journey was as vibrant and dynamic as her personality. She began her career as a journalist and radio personality, captivating audiences with her eloquent storytelling and engaging presence. Her career later transitioned into specialty product sales and advertising, where her charisma and business acumen shone brightly. Her dedication extended beyond her professional life into her community and faith. For over 40 years, Barbara was a devoted member of Emanuel Roman Catholic Church in Delray Beach, Florida. Her faith was a cornerstone of her life, and she was actively involved in numerous church outreaches, offering her time and talents to support those in need. A lover of the arts, Barbara's enthusiasm for culture and creativity was infectious, inspiring those around her to appreciate the beauty in the world. Barbara’s love for sports was evident from a young age when she became a junior golf champion at Cherry Hill Country Club in Ontario, Canada. Her competitive spirit and drive were traits that she carried with her throughout her life, inspiring all who knew her to strive for excellence in their pursuits. Barbara was renowned for her charismatic personality and beautiful smile, which could light up any room. Her warmth, kindness, and generous spirit left an indelible mark on all who had the privilege of knowing her. She lived her life with grace and dignity, always putting others before herself and spreading love wherever she went. In honor of Barbara’s life, her family invites those wishing to make a gesture of remembrance to consider making a donation to a charity of their choice or a local outreach program within the Catholic Church community, reflecting Barbara’s lifelong commitment to helping others.
