Barbara Ann von Stelzer, a cherished wife, mother, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully on November 13, 2026, in Murrell's Inlet, South Carolina, after courageously facing health challenges for several years. Being born on December 20, 1949, Barbara was her family's Christmas blessing. Her life was a testament to compassion, dedication, and love—a bright spirit that touched everyone who had the privilege of knowing her.
Barbara was the beloved daughter of Samuel J. Warren Jr. and Nathalie Warren Roach, who instilled in her the values of kindness and resilience. Though her father passed in 1969 and her mother in 2007, their legacy of warmth and strength lived on through Barbara's actions and spirit.
A graduate of Melrose High School, Barbara furthered her education at Boston State College, where she was among the pioneering graduates of the first Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) program. Her nursing career began at Boston City Hospital, following a internship at Mass General's Burn Unit. Her compassionate care extended from neo-natal units in Florida's Bethesda and Boca Raton Hospitals to the American International School in Germany as a school nurse. Upon returning to the U.S., she dedicated her expertise to teaching nurse's aides at Cape Cod Community College and later served with the Visiting Nurse Association (VNA) of Cape Cod. Her career culminated at the Eagle Pond Rehabilitation & Living Center in Dennis, MA, all the while volunteering at a homeless shelter in Hyannis, where her humility and kindness bore witness to her commitment to service.
Barbara's life was rich with involvement and passion. She was an active member of the Blue Rock & Bass River Ladies golf "Niner's Club" and enjoyed bowling during the winter months. Her garden was her sanctuary; she lovingly tended to her hydrangeas and daisies, each bloom a reflection of her nurturing spirit. Cooking was her love language, and she loved to share her delicious dishes with family and friends alike; a testament to her boundless generosity and hospitality.
Her family was her greatest treasure. She is survived by her devoted husband, Peter von Stelzer, who stood by her side through life's journey. Her son, Petie von Stelzer, his wife Emma and their children, Autumn and Augustus, were her pride and joy. She leaves behind her beloved sisters, Judith Dolaher and Janet Warren, along with Janet's husband, Errol.
Barbara's laughter and light will be dearly missed but forever remembered by all who loved her. May her spirit find eternal peace, and may her memory be a blessing to all.

A Life Well Lived
A life well lived is a precious gift
of hope and strength and grace,
from someone who has made our world
a brighter, better place.
It's filled with moments, sweet and sad,
with smiles and sometimes tears,
with friendships formed and good times shared
and laughter through the years.
A life well lived is a legacy
of joy and pride and pleasure,
a living, lasting memory
our grateful hearts will treasure.
