Barbara Ann Ladd

April 20, 1940 — August 22, 2026

Barbara Ann Ladd, a beloved member of the Hurricane community and a cherished matriarch of her family, passed away peacefully on August 22, 2026, at the age of 86. Born on April 20, 1940, in Cadiz, Kentucky, Barbara was the treasured daughter of Lois Tilman “L.T.” and Mable (Cunningham) Faughn, both of whom predeceased her. Barbara's life was a testament to love, resilience, and community spirit. A lifelong resident of the Hurricane community, she was known for her warm heart and generous nature. Her deep faith was evident through her longtime membership at Hurricane Baptist Church, where she found solace and joy in her spiritual community. Barbara was a dedicated homemaker, a role she embraced with grace and devotion. Her nurturing spirit extended beyond her family as she spent many years as an Avon representative, bringing beauty and warmth into the lives of those she met. She was a natural people person, delighting in each new encounter and cherishing her connections with old friends. A talented and creative soul, Barbara found joy in the art of crochet, crafting beautiful pieces that will be treasured by her family for generations. Her hands were never idle, and each stitch was woven with love and care. Barbara's legacy is carried on by her loving children: Debbie Wynn and her husband Kenneth, Donna Ethridge, and Ricky Ladd with his wife Laura. She was a proud and devoted grandmother to Samantha Mudd, Nikki Stallons, De Anna Litchfield, Jennifer Choate, and Janelle P’Pool. Her joy multiplied with each new generation, and she leaves behind six cherished great-grandchildren: Benjamin Choate, Braylee Stallons, Wyatt Mudd, Luke Mudd, Lainey Stallons, and Charlotte Litchfield. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to Hurricane Baptist Church, reflecting Barbara's lifelong commitment to her faith and community. In remembering Barbara Ann Ladd, we celebrate a life well-lived, filled with love, laughter, and unwavering faith. Her memory will forever be a blessing to those who knew and loved her.
