Barbara A. Woodard
December 23, 1957 — April 10, 2026
It is with heavy hearts and profound gratitude for a life well-lived that we announce the passing of Barbara A. Woodard, who peacefully departed this world on April 10, 2026, at the age of 68. Barbara was a cherished mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend whose presence will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
Born on December 23, 1957, in Wichita, Kansas, Barbara was the beloved daughter of Artensia and Della Woodard. She was raised in a loving family, alongside her brothers Art and Bernard, who have since passed, and her surviving siblings Bobby Woodard, Virgil Woodard, and Regina Witcher. The values of kindness and compassion instilled by her parents guided her throughout her life.
Barbara pursued her education with determination, attending Wichita State University for two years. Her career was marked by dedication and excellence, as she served for 15 years with Cessna/Textron and later held the position of accounting manager at Baysinger Police Supply. Her expertise in personal finance at Vangard and her work in accounting for multiple churches underscored her professional journey.
A devout woman of faith, Barbara was deeply involved in her church community, serving as a missionary and on the usher board. Her faith was a cornerstone of her life, guiding her actions and providing solace to those around her.
Beyond her professional and spiritual endeavors, Barbara was a wonderful artist. Her talent with pastels, watercolors, and paints brought color and joy to many. Her artistic spirit was reflective of her personality—smart, quiet, loving, and always smiling. Her gentle demeanor and warm smile left an indelible mark on everyone she encountered.
Barbara's greatest joy was her family. She was the devoted mother of Danielle Woodard, Jerome Woodard, and Nathanial Woodard, and she cherished the time spent with her eight grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. She held the memories of her predeceased son Jason Woodard and grandsons Khalid and Khalil Woodard close to her heart.
The family extends their deepest gratitude to Harry Hines Hospice for the compassionate care provided to Barbara in her final days. Special thanks are also extended to Jackson Mortuary for their respectful handling of her final wishes.
In accordance with Barbara's wishes, a private funeral ceremony will be held to honor her life and legacy.
Barbara A. Woodard's memory will forever be etched in the hearts of her family, friends, and all who knew her. Though she has left this earthly realm, her spirit will continue to inspire and guide us. As we celebrate her life, we are reminded of the love, grace, and beauty she bestowed upon the world.
