Williams, who departed this life on May 23, 2026, at the age of 75, after a courageous battle with cancer. Barbara was born on February 12, 1951, and throughout her remarkable life, she touched the hearts of many, leaving behind a legacy of love, kindness, and unwavering strength. Barbara's academic journey was one of accomplishment and dedication. She graduated from Clara Barton High School and went on to earn her Bachelor of Arts degree from John Jay College of Criminal Justice. Furthering her commitment to excellence, she obtained her Paralegal Certification from Brooklyn College and served as a Notary Public Member, always striving to better herself and those around her. Her professional journey began at the Bank of Tokyo, where she worked diligently from 1969 until 1992. Barbara's career path then led her to the New York City Housing Authority, where she devoted her talents and compassion until her retirement in 2024. Her colleagues remember her as a beacon of integrity and warmth, someone who was always ready to lend a helping hand. Barbara's love for life was beautifully expressed through her passions and hobbies. She found immense joy in reading, immersing herself in stories that transported her to different worlds. A lover of jazz, she delighted in the soulful melodies that echoed her own vibrant spirit. Her appreciation for old westerns and the serene country life was evident in her frequent vacations to the Poconos, where she marveled at the fall foliage and embraced the tranquility of nature. Those who knew Barbara will remember her as a kind soul, a woman who offered her listening ear and shoulder to lean on without hesitation. Her selflessness and empathy were the cornerstones of her character, touching the lives of countless individuals who were fortunate to cross her path. Barbara is lovingly remembered by her son, Larry Williams Jr., her daughter-in-law, Urainer Marrow, and her treasured grandchildren, Destini and Chantz Williams. Her sister, Charlene, and her great nieces, De'Andrea, Niaja-Li, Shannon, and great nephews, Tristen J and Nasir, will forever hold her memory in their hearts. She is also survived by a host of extended family members and friends who were touched by her love and generosity. Barbara has gone on to join her six sisters, two brothers, and niece, who predeceased her, in eternal peace. The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to all who have reached out with condolences and assistance during this time of sorrow.
