With heavy hearts and profound gratitude for a life well-lived, we announce the passing of Balfour John Lee on June 15, 2026, after a courageous battle with cancer. Born on May 5, 1949, in Spanish Town, St. Catherine, Jamaica, Balfour was a beacon of strength, love, and resilience, whose legacy will continue to inspire all who knew him. The son of David and Margret Lee, Balfour was nurtured in a home filled with love and integrity. He cherished his family deeply, with memories of his parents and predeceased family members, Ruby and Earl Anderson, holding a special place in his heart. In 1975, Balfour committed his life to Jane Smith in a beautiful ceremony in Kingston, Jamaica. Their union was blessed with three wonderful children: Robert, Martin, and Mary, who were the center of his world. Balfour was a devoted and loving husband and father, always prioritizing his family's happiness and well-being. Balfour’s life was enriched by the love of his surviving siblings, Sharon Anderson, Kimberly Anderson, Ruthlyn Grey, and Paul Lee, with whom he shared countless cherished memories. His legacy continues through his three beloved grandchildren, who brought him immense joy and pride. A man of deep faith and community spirit, Balfour will be remembered for his kindness, wisdom, and unwavering support to those around him. His warmth and generosity extended beyond his family, touching the lives of many in his community. A service to celebrate Balfour’s life will be held on August 14, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. at St. George’s Anglican Church, located at 6v98+69w Savanna la Mar, Jamaica. Family, friends, and all whose lives were enriched by Balfour's presence are invited to join in honoring his memory. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made in Balfour's memory to the St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, an organization he held close to his heart, reflecting his enduring commitment to helping others. Balfour John Lee's legacy of love, strength, and compassion will live on in the hearts of his family and friends. He will be deeply missed but never forgotten. May his soul rest in eternal peace.
