Avani Dorothy Brown, a beacon of love and light, was born on May 6, 2000, to Margret and Benjamin Brown. On October 31, 2025, Avani passed away peacefully in her sleep from an asthma attack, leaving behind a legacy of kindness and joy that will forever be cherished by all who knew her.
Born of Jamaican and Guyanese heritage, Avani embraced her rich cultural background and shared it with pride. She was a beloved daughter, sister, and friend, touching the lives of many with her warmth and generosity. Avani is survived by her devoted parents, Margret and Benjamin Brown, her loving siblings Alisha and Kyle, and her dear friends Bree, Kels, and Cece. She is reunited in peace with her cherished grandparents, Jacky and Kentrell Williams.
Avani was a bright and dedicated student, earning her Bachelor's and Master's degrees in Education in 2022 and 2024. Her passion for teaching was boundless, and she was in the process of opening her own afterschool program—a dream she held close to her heart. Her enthusiasm for nurturing young minds was evident in every interaction, as she inspired countless children with her energy and creativity.
Since the age of 15, Avani was an active and cherished member of her church community, where she found joy in serving others and sharing her faith. Her love for dance, singing, and cooking brought joy to her friends and family, creating countless memories that will be treasured forever. Avani’s compassion knew no bounds; she consistently sought to help those in need, embodying a spirit of generosity and selflessness.
Those who knew Avani will remember her as smart, caring, funny, and the light in every room she entered. Her vibrant personality and infectious laughter left a lasting impression on everyone she met.
A service to celebrate Avani's life will be held on November 8, 2025, at 10:30am. The family extends their heartfelt thanks to all who have expressed their condolences and support during this difficult time. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Avani's memory to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, an organization that reflects her deep love for children.
