Austin Lefkof

July 3, 2010 — June 9, 2026

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Austin Lefkok, a cherished son, student, and friend, who left this world far too soon on June 9, 2026, at the tender age of 15. Born on July 3, 2010, in the heart of Long Island, Austin was a beacon of enthusiasm and promise, whose light, though brief, shone brightly in the lives of all who knew him. Austin was the beloved son of John and Mary Lefkok, who nurtured his spirit and supported his many endeavors with endless love and care. A sophomore at Herricks High School, Austin was more than just a student; he was a role model, demonstrating respect, kindness, and a thirst for knowledge. His involvement with the Boy Scouts further exemplified his dedication to service and community, where he earned the admiration of peers and mentors alike. In his short life, Austin embraced the world of politics, working as an intern at a local political group for the Board of Education. His keen interest in shaping the future through civic engagement reflected his maturity and a vision for a better tomorrow. Among his many passions, rowing was Austin’s favorite sport—a pursuit he embraced with vigor and determination. Whether gliding across the water or cheering on his teammates, Austin found joy and camaraderie in every stroke, embodying the spirit of teamwork and perseverance. Austin was a young man of remarkable qualities. His tall stature and handsome features made him a unique presence, but it was his warmth and charisma that truly captured the hearts of those around him. A total looker, Austin radiated positivity and was admired for his genuine nature and the sincerity he brought to every interaction. Though his time with us was brief, Austin's legacy is one of love, laughter, and inspiration. He joins his great-great-great-grandfather and Grandpa Lefkok in eternal rest, leaving behind cherished memories that will forever remain in the hearts of his family and friends. A private funeral ceremony will be held to honor Austin’s life, allowing his family to mourn and celebrate his memory in a personal and meaningful way. In the words of Austin himself, "Keep your friends rich and your enemies rich and find out which is which." His family shares this message as a testament to the wisdom and insight he possessed, even at a young age. In lieu of flowers, the Lefkok family kindly asks that donations be made to a charity of your choice in Austin’s memory, ensuring that his spirit of giving continues to make a difference in the world. Austin Lefkok will be deeply missed, but his spirit will live on through the countless lives he touched. May he rest in peace, forever in our hearts.
