Austin Daniel Lingo, cherished son, devoted father, and loyal friend, passed away peacefully at his home on May 29, 2026, at the age of 30. Born on August 11, 1995, in Gillette, Wyoming, Austin graced this world with his warm smile and generous spirit, leaving an indelible mark on everyone fortunate enough to know him.
Austin was the beloved son of Angela Donovan Tripp and Steven Lingo. Through the years, he was nurtured by his stepfather, James Tripp, and shared his life with a large, loving family. He is survived by his precious daughters, Addison Rae and Kinsley Opal Lingo, who were the lights of his life. His siblings, Robert Sommers, Gary Lingo, Shane Vigil, Gregory, and Justin Tripp, as well as his sisters, Mary Sommers, Ariel Harvey "Lingo", Stormy Taylor, and Erin Tripp, remember him with fondness and love. Austin’s extended family, including his Aunt Debra Whiting and countless others, hold his memory close to their hearts.
Educated at Kelly Walsh High School, Austin graduated in 2013, marking the beginning of a journey characterized by dedication and service. He honorably served in the Army Reserve from 2013 until his passing, achieving the rank of Sergeant. Known for his unwavering commitment, Austin will receive full military honors, a testament to his service and sacrifice.
Austin's professional life included several years at Mad Towing, where his strong work ethic and kind-hearted nature were evident to all who worked alongside him. Outside of work, he was an avid hunter and fisherman, renowned for his competitive spirit and exceptional fishing skills. His fellow reservists often shared laughs over inside jokes about his prowess on the water, and these moments will be fondly remembered.
A lover of country music, Austin found joy in the simple pleasures of life and was devoted to spending quality time with his children, creating memories that will be cherished forever. His warm smile and the hugs he gave so freely will be missed by all who knew him, but especially by his family who adored him.
Austin was predeceased by his "brother by another mother and father," Wyatt Sommers, his grandmother Ilene Radovich Cocklin, grandfather John C. Donavan, step-grandmother Betty Donovan, and brother David Lingo. Their spirits, united in love, embrace him now.
A service to honor Austin's life will be held on August 11, 2026, at 2:00 PM at Monument Hill Cemetery in Thermopolis, Wyoming. As family and friends gather to remember and celebrate Austin, we will draw comfort from the love he so freely gave and the legacy he leaves behind.
Austin Daniel Lingo will be remembered for his kindness, his dedication, and the love he showered upon his family and friends. Though he has left this earthly realm, his spirit will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
