It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved father, grandfather, and friend, August J. Kalohn, who left this world on June 2, 2026, at the age of 82. Born on November 8, 1943, August lived a life filled with love, kindness, and a relentless commitment to those around him. He peacefully departed surrounded by the love of his family, following a sudden heart attack. August was a man of great integrity and warmth. His life was a testament to the values he held dear: family, friendship, and faith. Throughout his years, August touched the lives of many with his generosity and unwavering spirit. He was a guiding light to his children and a cherished figure in the lives of his grandchildren, whom he adored beyond measure. Predeceased by his beloved son Chris Kalohn, daughter Kelly Courtway, and three precious grandchildren, August faced life's challenges with remarkable resilience and grace. Despite these profound losses, he continued to embody strength and compassion, offering solace and wisdom to those around him. A devoted family man, August's greatest joy was found in the moments spent with loved ones. Whether sharing stories over a meal or offering a helping hand, his presence was a constant source of comfort and joy. He was a man whose heart knew no bounds, and his legacy of love will forever echo in the hearts of those who knew him. We invite you to join us in celebrating the remarkable life of August J. Kalohn on June 13, 2026, at 3:00 PM. A service in his honor will be held at St. Joseph Church, located at 803 Lafayette St., Milford, Michigan. The service will be a time to reflect on the incredible journey of a man who inspired us all with his courage, kindness, and unwavering faith.
