In Loving Memory

Ashwin Aggarawal
May 5, 2006 — April 12, 2026
It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Ashwin Aggarawal, a cherished son, brother, and friend. Born on May 5, 2006, in Boston, Massachusetts, Ashwin left this world far too soon on April 12, 2026, at the tender age of 19. He is survived by his loving parents, Atul and Arpita Aggarawal, and his beloved sibling, Aashri Aggarawal. He was predeceased by his dear grandfather, Raj Aggarawal, and grandmother, Jyoti Patel, whose memories he always held close to his heart.
Ashwin was a remarkable young man who touched the lives of many with his kindness, intelligence, and warm spirit. From a young age, he demonstrated a keen curiosity and a passion for learning, both of which guided him throughout his life. He pursued his education with dedication and excellence, culminating in his acceptance to Cornell University, where he was in the midst of earning an undergraduate degree in Computer Science. Ashwin was not just a student; he was a visionary, always eager to explore the endless possibilities of technology and how it could be used to make the world a better place.
Beyond his academic pursuits, Ashwin was known for his gentle nature and his ability to bring joy to those around him. He had a smile that could light up the darkest room and a heart that was open to everyone. Friends remember him as a compassionate listener and a loyal companion who was always there with a comforting word or a shared laugh. His family recalls his love for music, his talent for playing the guitar, and the way he could lose himself in a song, bringing others along with him on his musical journey.
Ashwin’s warmth extended beyond his immediate circle; he was deeply committed to his community, often volunteering his time to help those in need. Whether it was tutoring other students in math and science or organizing charity events, Ashwin’s altruistic spirit was evident in all that he did. His legacy of kindness and generosity will continue to inspire those who knew him.
A service to celebrate Ashwin's life will be held on April 14, 2026, at 1:00 PM at the Hindu Center of Virginia, located at 6051 Springfield Rd, Glen Allen, VA 23060. Family, friends, and all whose lives were touched by Ashwin are welcome to gather and honor his memory, sharing stories and finding solace in the community he held dear.
Though Ashwin's time with us was brief, his impact was profound, and he will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him. As we say goodbye, we hold on to the memories of a young man whose life, though short, was filled with purpose, light, and love. May his soul rest in eternal peace, and may his spirit continue to guide and inspire us all.
