Ashtyn Gean Smith November 23, 1980 – May 31, 2026 It is with heavy hearts and profound sadness that we announce the passing of Ashtyn Gean Smith, who left us tragically on May 31, 2026, at the age of 45. Ashtyn was born in Tulsa, Oklahoma, on November 23, 1980, to Steve and Lois Freeman, and she spent her life enriching the lives of those around her with her warmth, kindness, and boundless love. Ashtyn was a devoted homemaker whose world revolved around her beloved children, April and Stephen. Her nurturing spirit and generous heart extended beyond her family, touching everyone she met. In her presence, nobody was a stranger; every encounter was an opportunity to make a new friend. Her gentle smile and welcoming nature made her a beacon of light and comfort to all who had the pleasure of knowing her. Her love for the outdoors was evident in her joy for fishing and hiking, activities she often shared with her family. Ashtyn found peace and happiness in the simple pleasures of life, whether it was tending to her garden or spending quality time with her loved ones. Her children were her pride and joy, and she cherished every moment spent with them, creating precious memories that will be treasured forever. Ashtyn is survived by her two precious children, April and Stephen, who remain in the home they shared; her loving mother, Lois Freeman; and her devoted sisters, Lisa Mae and Melissa Polak, both of Oklahoma. Her family, along with countless friends and extended family members, will feel the void left by her passing but will forever carry her memory in their hearts. Ashtyn was predeceased by her father, Steve, her maternal grandmother, Joann Baugher, her paternal grandmother, Louise Freeman, and her sister, Lois Louise. She is now reunited with them and other cherished family members, including her cousin Joseph and many aunts and uncles, in a place of peace and eternal rest. The family has chosen to honor Ashtyn's memory with a private funeral ceremony, allowing her close family to celebrate her life in a personal and intimate setting. They extend their deepest gratitude to all who have offered kind words and generosity during this difficult time. The love and support from each individual have provided comfort and strength, reinforcing the impact Ashtyn had on so many lives. Ashtyn's life was a testament to the power of kindness, and her legacy will continue to inspire those who knew her. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you honor Ashtyn by extending a hand of friendship to anyone who may need it, as she always did. Thank you, everyone, for your kind words and generosity during this time. Each and every one of you will be remembered, just as Ashtyn will be lovingly remembered in our hearts forever.
