January 17, 2006 — June 4, 2026

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved Ashton Michael Krick, who left us far too soon on June 4, 2026, at the age of 20. Ashton was born on January 17, 2006, in Columbus, Ohio, filling the world with his light and love from the moment he arrived. His life, though tragically cut short in a car accident, was a testament to kindness, intellect, and unwavering love. Ashton's journey through life was marked by significant accomplishments and deep connections. A graduate of Olentangy Orange High School in 2024, Ashton was pursuing his passion for aerospace engineering and had just completed his second year at The Ohio State University. He was a bright and ambitious student, driven by his dreams and the desire to make a difference in the world. From a young age, Ashton was captivated by the expansive universe of Star Wars, a love that grew into a broader appreciation for video gaming, where he spent countless hours in camaraderie with friends. As an ardent fan of the Ohio State Buckeyes and the Cincinnati Bengals, Ashton’s enthusiasm for sports was infectious, bringing people together through both triumphs and tribulations. Nature was another of Ashton's great loves. Whether hiking or biking, he found peace and joy in the great outdoors. His favorite destinations were Universal Orlando and the serene shores of Siesta Key Beach, where he made cherished memories with family and friends. Ashton’s heart was as vast as his interests. A shy soul at first, those who took the time to know him discovered his gentle personality and sharp sense of humor. His kindness knew no bounds, and his easygoing nature made him a cherished friend to many. Ashton loved fiercely and was fiercely loved in return, embodying the very best of humanity. He is survived by his devoted parents, Kenneth and Lynda Krick, and his beloved brother, Aidan John (A.J.) Edward Krick, who will forever cherish their memories together. Ashton also leaves behind his grandparents, Gerry and Shirley Roth, and Larry and Linda Krick, along with his loving aunts and uncles, Amy (Rob) Wagner and Gayle (Dave) Morris. His cousins Andrew Morris, Brendan Morris, Kelly Hally, and Quinn Wagner, as well as his Kreville brothers Dylan, Drew, and D.J., will miss him dearly. Ashton’s loyal dog, Maverick, remains a testament to his love for animals, a bond first shared with his predeceased dog, Kelsey. Ashton was predeceased by his maternal grandfather, Jerry Harmon, whose legacy of love and warmth continues to live on through Ashton’s life. Ashton was a supporter of Pelotonia, a cause close to his heart, completing his first ride in 2025 to help fund life-saving cancer research. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Pelotonia in his memory at Pelotonia Donation Page. A service to celebrate Ashton’s life will be held on June 14, 2026, at 2:00 PM at Flint Station, 225 Park Road, Columbus, OH 43240. Family and friends are invited to gather and share their memories of Ashton, as we honor the beautiful impact he had on all our lives. In this time of immeasurable grief, Ashton’s family extends their heartfelt gratitude for the love and support they have received from those who knew and cared for him. As we mourn his loss, we also celebrate the incredible light he brought into our lives—a light that will never fade. Our hearts are broken by the loss of our beloved son and brother, Ashton, but we are eternally grateful for the time we shared with him. Rest in peace, dear Ashton. You will forever be in our hearts.
