Arthur Smith, a beloved father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, and friend, peacefully passed away on July 2, 2026, at the age of 70, surrounded by the love of his family. Born on November 9, 1955, in Big Lake, Texas, Arthur was the cherished son of Nollie Joe Smith and Ruby Nell Smith, who predeceased him along with his brothers Milford Ray Smith and Sherman Dwayne Smith. Arthur's life was a tapestry of dedication, service, and love. A proud alumnus of Reagan Country High School, he went on to serve his country with honor in the Army National Guard. Following his service, Arthur embarked on a career in the oilfields and later became a truck driver, where he was known for his strong work ethic and dedication until his well-deserved retirement. Arthur was a former member of Bethlehem Baptist Church, where he was remembered for his unwavering faith and community involvement. His quick wit and warm smile were a source of joy to all who knew him, and his ability to lighten any mood with a well-timed joke was legendary. Arthur had a remarkable gift for making everyone feel welcome and valued, a testament to his kind and generous spirit. His love for socializing was well-known; he thrived in the company of friends and was always ready to lend a listening ear or a helping hand. Arthur's kindness and generosity touched countless lives, leaving a legacy of love and laughter that will be cherished by all who had the privilege of knowing him. Arthur is survived by his loving family: Jerome Evens and wife Suad, Jason Smith, Jasmine Smith Ortiz and husband Jesus, Brother J.H. Smith and wife Mary, Sister Marianna Williams (James), Sister Kathy Smith, Sister Marilyn Smith (Ag) , and a host of nieces, nephews, and dear friends. He was a proud grandfather to six grandchildren and a great-grandfather to six great-grandchildren, all of whom were the light of his life. A service to honor and celebrate Arthur's life will be held on July 11, 2026, at 11:00 AM. The family wishes to extend their heartfelt gratitude to Arthur's friends and close companions for their unwavering support and generosity during this difficult time. Arthur Smith's life was a testament to love, laughter, and service. He will be deeply missed but forever remembered in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to have shared in his journey.
