Born on November 7, 1936, in Medford, Massachusetts, Arthur was the beloved son of Gertrude and Melvin Tracy. Arthur's life was a testament to the values of hard work, devotion, and kindness. He was predeceased by his beloved wife, Ruth A. Tracy, with whom he shared a deep and enduring love. Together, they crafted a beautiful life centered around family and community. Arthur’s professional journey began in fabric research, where he applied his keen intellect and curiosity. In 1986, he embraced a second career as a funeral director, purchasing and operating Tracy Funeral Home in Walpole, Massachusetts. Here, Arthur found his true calling, serving families in their times of greatest need with empathy and dignity. His work was more than a profession; it was a ministry of comfort and support. Arthur was a man of many talents and passions. He found joy in the quiet, meditative arts of wood, leather, and needlework, crafting pieces that were as beautiful as they were meaningful. His hands, skilled and gentle, created items that told stories of dedication and love. Above all, Arthur was devoted to his family, who brought him endless pride and happiness. He leaves behind a legacy of love in his four cherished daughters, Jean M. (Stephen) Masterson, Alice R. (Martin) Young, Ellen M. (Paul) Webber, and Susan E. (Patrick) Costello. His heart expanded with each new generation, and he was the proud grandfather of 15 grandchildren: Daniel, Christopher, Alexandra, and Joseph Masterson; Victoria Pelton; Ava Debovis; Miles and Samantha Young; Kaitlin, Matthew, and Evan Webber; Kirsten Sistare; and Michael, Stephen, and Ryan Costello. His love continued to grow with the arrival of 12 great-grandchildren, each one holding a special place in his heart. Arthur’s deep commitment to family was evident in every aspect of his life. He was a guiding light, offering wisdom, support, and unconditional love to those he held dear. His gentle demeanor and warm smile will be fondly remembered by all who were fortunate to know him. A private funeral ceremony will be held to honor Arthur’s life, in accordance with his wishes. While the gathering will be intimate, the impact of his life will continue to resonate within the countless lives he touched. Arthur Michael Tracy will be remembered for his unwavering dedication to his family, his community, and his craft. His legacy of kindness and compassion will live on in the hearts of those who loved him. May he rest in peace, reunited with his beloved Ruth, and forever cherished by those he leaves behind.
