Born on April 4, 1935, in Dallas County, Arthur was the cherished son of the late Mr. Arthur Coleman Sr. and Mrs. Mattie Coleman. Arthur's life was a testament to love, resilience, and dedication. He was predeceased by his devoted wife, Mrs. Ethel Lee Coleman, with whom he shared many wonderful years of marriage. Together, they built a family filled with warmth and compassion, a legacy that continues to thrive through their children: Deborah (Stanley) Langham, Marilyn Taleton, Shelia Watts, James (Patricia) Bryant, and Melvin Pettway. Arthur was also a loving brother to his predeceased siblings, Dannie NeSmith, Claude Coleman, and Ernest Coleman. He is survived by his siblings Hattie (James) Bumpass, Chris (Lee) Parker, Mattie (Joseph) LaDuna, Clay (Mittie Mae) Coleman, Carolina Kendrick, and Columbia Coleman. His family was his pride and joy, and he cherished each moment spent with them. Arthur's life was enriched by his four grandchildren and six great-grandchildren, who brought him immense joy and happiness. His presence in their lives was a guiding light, and his wisdom and kindness will be remembered and cherished for generations. A man of great faith, Arthur was an active member of Saint Peter Baptist Church in Mobile, Alabama, where he will be honored in a celebration of his life. The service will be held on July 17, 2026, at 11:00 AM, where family and friends will gather to pay their respects and share fond memories of a life well-lived. Arthur's legacy is one of love, humility, and generosity—a life dedicated to family and community. He leaves behind a host of other relatives and close friends who will forever remember his gentle spirit and unwavering kindness.
