Arthur Gregory Dobosz

Arthur Gregory Dobosz, a beloved member of the community, passed away on August 12, 2026, at the age of 88. Born on October 28, 1937, in Hartford, Connecticut, Arthur was the cherished son of Anthony Dobosz and Sophie Gubala Roman.
Arthur's life was marked by devotion, service, and a profound love for his family. He was predeceased by his dear wife, Arline Lefebvre, with whom he shared a beautiful marriage of 62 years. Together, they built a loving family that remains his proudest legacy. Arthur was also predeceased by his sons, Michael and Gregory Dobosz, and his sister, MaryEllen Quagliaroli.
Arthur is survived by his devoted children, Kathy Dobosz and her partner Chad Luce, and John Dobosz and his wife Karen. He leaves behind three treasured grandchildren: Julia and Alex Audet, and Michael and Vikki Benoit, along with Matthew Benoit and Allie Debryun. His siblings Martha Lehman, Antoinette Dobosz, and Anthony Steinbach also mourn his passing.
A graduate of Windsor Locks High School, class of 1954, Arthur proudly served his country as a Private in the United States Marine Corps from 1956 to 1958. His career spanned over three decades as a dedicated sprinkler fitter for Local 679, followed by eight years with the United States Post Office of Windsor Locks as a clerk and carrier. Arthur's passion for martial arts led him to establish the Northern Connecticut School of Judo, where he shared his skills as a 3rd degree black belt sensei and co-founded 3 Seniors Self Defense, empowering seniors with self-defense techniques.
Arthur was actively involved in his community, serving as a member of St. Bernard Church of Enfield and St. Gerards Church of Edgewater. He volunteered with the Enfield Police Fish and Wildlife Division and the Edgewater Police CAPS, demonstrating his unwavering commitment to helping others.
His hobbies brought him joy and camaraderie—whether attending car shows with his collector vehicles, cheering on NASCAR races, or enjoying peaceful fishing trips with friends, Arthur embraced life with enthusiasm and generosity.
Those who knew Arthur remember him for his kindness, readiness to help others, and the warmth he extended to everyone he met.
A service to honor Arthur's life will be held on September 12, 2026, at 10:30 AM at St Bernard Cemetery, Park St, Enfield, CT. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to the Stephen Siller Tunnel To Towers Foundation in Staten Island, NY, a cause dear to Arthur's heart.
Arthur Gregory Dobosz's legacy of love, strength, and service will forever be cherished by his family, friends, and all who were fortunate to know him.
