Born on June 14, 1940, in Detroit, Michigan, Arthur was the beloved son of the late Maddox and Helen Gibson, whose memory he cherished throughout his life. Arthur's journey through life was marked by his unwavering dedication to family, work, and community. A proud graduate of Henry Ford High School, class of 1958, Arthur embraced the values of hard work and integrity, which guided him in all his endeavors. He dedicated over 35 years to General Motors, where his strong work ethic and commitment to excellence earned him the deep respect and admiration of his colleagues and friends. In 40 years of marriage to his devoted wife, Yovette Gibson, Arthur found his greatest joy and partnership. Together, they built a loving family, raising three cherished children: Mia Gibson, Tia Gibson, and Arthur Earl Gibson II. In his role as a father and grandfather, Arthur's gentle wisdom and steady presence provided a foundation of strength and love, and he took immense pride in watching his family grow. Arthur's legacy extends through his treasured grandchildren—Chelsea Shaw, Alexis Shaw, Page Gibson, Mario Gibson, and Jada Gibson—and three great-grandchildren, who brought him boundless joy and laughter. He also leaves behind a host of nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends who will forever hold him in their hearts. Arthur was a man of quiet dignity and timeless style, known for his warm smile and the grace with which he navigated life's challenges. He believed deeply in the power of family, faith, and community, and he instilled these values in the generations that follow him. His life was a testament to resilience and devotion, and his legacy will continue to inspire all who knew him. A service to honor Arthur's life will be held on March 6, 2026, at 10:15 AM at James H. Cole, located at 16100 Schaefer Hwy, Detroit, MI 48235. Family and friends are invited to gather and celebrate a life well-lived, sharing memories and stories that reflect the love and impact Arthur had on everyone around him. Though he is no longer with us in body, Arthur’s spirit and legacy of love will forever be a guiding light. His life was a blessing, his memory a treasure. We find comfort in knowing that he now rests in peace, united with his parents and embraced by the love of those he touched throughout his journey. Arthur E.
