It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Arthur Charles, who left this world on April 7, 2026, at the age of 61. Born on May 9, 1964, in the picturesque town of Roche-à-Bateau, Haiti, Arthur touched the lives of many with his kindness, warmth, and unwavering dedication to his family and community. Arthur's life was a testament to resilience and love. He fought a courageous and hard-fought battle with kidney cancer, ultimately succumbing to a heart attack. Despite the challenges he faced, Arthur's spirit remained unbroken, and his heart was as generous as ever. Arthur was the beloved son of Noemie Julian and Yves Charles. He grew up surrounded by a large and loving family, including his ten brothers and sisters, who continue to reside in Haiti. Family was always at the center of Arthur's world. He is survived by his devoted wife, Luzutte Darius Charles, whom he married in 2008. Their love was a beacon of strength, and Arthur did everything within his power to provide a comfortable life for Luzutte, consistently expressing his admiration and love for her. Arthur was a proud father to his son, Allan Charles, and a cherished grandfather to his grandchildren, Ava and Ari Charles. He adored his grandchildren and delighted in their laughter and joy. His family was his greatest treasure, and he devoted himself to their happiness and well-being. A man of incredible work ethic, Arthur began his career with the Red Cross in Haiti, where he dedicated himself to helping those in need. After moving to America, he found his calling with the NYC Department of Parks and Recreation. Arthur loved his work and gave it his all, even when facing personal pain. His passion for handiwork was evident in his meticulous attention to fixing flooring, painting, and remodeling bathrooms. No broken item went unfixed under Arthur’s watchful eye and skilled hands. Arthur's hobbies were as diverse as his interests. He had an eclectic taste in music and found solace in listening to melodies from all genres. His faith was a cornerstone of his life, and he found peace in prayer and reading scriptures. Those who knew Arthur will remember him as a kind-hearted soul who never hesitated to lend a helping hand. His generosity extended beyond his family, reaching anyone who needed assistance. Arthur gave all he had to those he loved, and his legacy of love and compassion will forever be cherished by all who had the privilege of knowing him. Arthur Charles's life was a symphony of love, dedication, and resilience, and his memory will continue to inspire those who knew him. He leaves behind a legacy of strength, kindness, and unwavering love. Though he is no longer with us, his spirit will live on in the hearts of his family and friends. In celebration of his extraordinary life, a service will be held to honor Arthur's memory and the incredible impact he had on the lives of so many. His family invites all who knew him to join in remembering a man whose love knew no bounds and whose life was a testament to the power of kindness. Rest in peace, Arthur Charles. You will be deeply missed, but never forgotten.
