Arnold Taylor

January 7, 1943 — March 4, 2026

Arnold Taylor, a cherished husband, father, grandfather, and friend, passed away peacefully at home on March 4, 2026, at the age of 83. Born on January 7, 1943, in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, Arnold's journey through life was one of warmth, dedication, and unwavering love for his family and community. Arnold was predeceased by his beloved parents, Jake and Pearl Taylor of Kenaston, SK, and several cherished siblings and in-laws, including Ellen (Jim) MacDonald, Alice (Roger) Robichaud, Bonnie (Alphonse) McKay, his brother Jim, sister-in-law Pat (Jim) Taylor, and brother-in-laws Keith (Lynne) Grant and Linus Boire (Lonnie). He is survived by his devoted wife of 60 years, Sharon (Stratton) Taylor, with whom he shared a life filled with love and laughter since their marriage on September 4, 1965, in Moose Jaw, SK. Together, Arnold and Sharon raised a loving family, including their children: Brad (Christine) Taylor of Prince Albert, SK; Lisa (Mark) Riley of Edmonton, AB; Doug (Tracey) Taylor of Kenaston, SK; Meaghan Taylor of Vancouver, BC; Daniel Taylor; and Wendy Taylor, both of Saskatoon, SK. Arnold’s legacy continues through his nine grandchildren, Chelsey Taylor (Taylor Fauchoux), Mitchell Riley, Alayna Riley, Calvin Taylor, Kaitlyn Taylor (Chase Bock), Morgan (Kolton) Yasieniuk, Olivié Taylor, Serena Taylor, and Ava Gareau (Sammy), and his cherished great-granddaughter, Jersey Taylor Fauchoux. Arnold's early years were spent in Kenaston, where he graduated Grade 12 from Zid School. Though details of his military service remain incomplete, Arnold's sense of duty and commitment was evident throughout his life. His professional journey included roles as an insurance salesman and a pharmaceutical sales representative. However, the allure of farming was ever-present, and in 1972, Arnold returned to his roots, purchasing the Allan farm just a half-mile from his childhood home. A man of many interests, Arnold was a devoted member of the Lions Club and St. Columba Anglican Church, where he served as a warden and bell-ringer. He was passionate about organic farming and contributed his expertise as a consultant at Cleeter Farms in Wynyard. His love for the land was matched only by his love for reading, especially books on history, and his fascination with the natural world. Arnold could often be found bird-watching, identifying local and rare species with ease and sharing his knowledge with anyone who shared his interest. Arnold found joy in card games, particularly bridge and whist, and was a regular participant in the Davidson community. His love of travel allowed him to explore new places and cultures, enriching his life and those around him. The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to those who supported Sharon during this difficult time, bringing comfort through visits, food, and kind words. A special thank you to Susan and all the friends and family who traveled from near and far to honor Arnold’s memory at his service. A service to celebrate Arnold's life will be held on April 12, 2026, at 2:00 PM at Kenaston Place Hall. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Columba Anglican Church, a place that held a special place in Arnold's heart. Arnold’s life was a testament to the power of love, family, and community. He touched the lives of many and leaves behind a legacy of kindness, dedication, and warmth. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
