It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Armondo A. Arias, a beloved brother, uncle, and friend, who departed this world on March 25, 2026, at the age of 77. Born on May 29, 1948, in Weslaco, Texas, Armondo was a beacon of strength and kindness, described by all who knew him as a man of remarkable character and boundless generosity. Armondo was the cherished son of the late Damian and Maria Gabriella Arias. He is predeceased by his dear sister, Angelina Wines, and survived by his siblings, Francis Harker, María “Bonnie” Guevara, Miguel Arias, Eusevio Arias, and Mario Arias, along with several nieces and nephews who adored him dearly. He spent his formative years in Fresno, California, where he graduated from Fresno High School in 1967. Following graduation, Armondo enlisted in the United States Marines, serving his country with honor from 1967 to 1970. During his distinguished military career, Armondo completed two tours in the Vietnam War and achieved the rank of Sergeant. His bravery and dedication were recognized with numerous commendations, including the National Defense Service Medal, Combat Action Ribbon, Vietnamese Service Medal, Vietnam Campaign Medal, Vietnamese Cross of Gallantry, Rifle Badge, and Marksman. After his military service, Armondo dedicated 23 years to the US Postal Service, where he was known for his unwavering work ethic and camaraderie. His warm smile and quick wit endeared him to colleagues and customers alike, leaving a lasting impression on all who crossed his path. Armondo's passions extended beyond his professional life. A martial arts enthusiast, he trained in kung fu and tai chi, sharing his skills and wisdom with countless students over the years. He was also an avid fisherman, often finding peace and joy by the water's edge. His compassion for animals was evident through his tireless efforts as a dog and cat savior, providing love and care to countless furry friends. Armondo was also a generous spirit, consistently donating to numerous charities, embodying the true essence of altruism. His vibrant personality was marked by a love of music and humor. Known for his wit, Armondo could often be found telling a joke or singing while strumming his guitar, bringing laughter and joy to those around him. A service to celebrate Armondo's life will be held on April 20, 2026, at 4:00 PM at the Salser & Dillard Life Event Center, located at 135 E Caldwell Ave, Visalia, CA. Family and friends are invited to gather in remembrance of this remarkable man who touched so many lives. In the words of Armondo's family, "Those we love don’t go away, they walk beside us every day… Unseen, unheard, but always near, still loved, still missed, and very dear." Armondo's legacy of love, laughter, and service will continue to inspire and guide us, as he walks beside us in spirit, forever in our hearts.
