It is with heavy hearts and gentle remembrance that we announce the peaceful passing of April Bullock on July 21, 2026, at the age of 89. April departed this world surrounded by the warmth and love of her family, leaving an indelible mark on all who had the privilege of knowing her. Born on February 7, 1983, in Chicago, Illinois, April was the beloved daughter of Gloria and Larry Bullock. Her life was a testament to love, resilience, and compassion. She was predeceased by her dear great-great-granddaughter, Whitney Nelson, whose memory she cherished dearly. On August 12, 1949, April married the love of her life, Buzz Bone. Their marriage was a beautiful journey of togetherness, filled with countless cherished memories. April was the proud grandmother of four grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren, all of whom were her pride and joy. April's passion for helping others led her to a fulfilling career as a nurse, a vocation she dedicated over 50 years to. Her patients and colleagues knew her for her warm smile and unyielding compassion, qualities that endeared her to everyone she met. A graduate of the School of Hard Knocks, April believed in the value of life’s experiences and the lessons they imparted. She was an active member of the clergy at St. Mary’s Cherish, where her faith and dedication to her community shone brightly. In her personal life, April found joy in simple pleasures—reading, cooking, knitting, and spending time with her family. These hobbies were a reflection of her nurturing spirit and the love she so generously shared. A celebration of April's life will be held on July 15, 2026, at 2:30 PM at St. Mary’s Church, located at 123 Main St., Evanston, IL 50019. Family, friends, and all whose lives April touched are invited to join in honoring her legacy. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to a charity of one's choice, in memory of April's lifelong dedication to serving others. April Bullock will forever be remembered for her warmth, her boundless compassion, and the love she gave freely to all. Though she is no longer with us, her spirit lives on in the hearts of her family, friends, and all who were blessed to know her.
