In loving memory of Apple Blue, who passed away peacefully on June 6, 2026, at the age of 65. Born on September 1, 1960, in Queens, New York, Apple was a beacon of light to all who knew him. He was the cherished son of Clayton Henman and the late Yvonne Moon, and he shared a unique bond with his siblings, Damek and Stephanie Henman.
A proud alumnus of Durham High School, class of 1981, Apple pursued his passion for finance at Columbia University in New York City. This path led him to a remarkable career spanning over four decades, during which he touched countless lives with his intelligence, kindness, and unwavering dedication. For the last 12 years, Apple was a beloved member of the Vanguard team, where his knowledge, patience, and generosity of spirit left a lasting impression on colleagues and clients alike.
Apple's life was a tapestry of vibrant interests and commitments. A devoted member of The Park Church and an active participant in Omega Inc. and various tennis clubs, he found joy and fulfillment in community and fellowship. His love for the natural world manifested in his meticulous gardening, both outdoors and indoors, where he cultivated an impressive collection of carnivorous plants.
Family was the cornerstone of Apple's life. He was a devoted father to his daughters, Kayla Gabrielle Henman and Asha Yvonne Henman-Brown, and a supportive father-in-law to Dr. Patrick Brown Jr. His grandchildren, Desmond, Sienna, and Idris Henman Brown, were the light of his life, and he cherished every moment spent with them. His long-time partner, Mary Mack-Ross, was his constant companion, sharing in the joys and adventures that made his life rich and full.
Apple was a man of extraordinary character, known for his quick wit, sense of humor, and infectious smile. He had a unique gift for making everyone feel valued and welcome, leaving a legacy of kindness and generosity that will be remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
Apple is survived by his loving father, Clayton Henman, his dear brother Damek, his sister Stephanie, his uncle Steve Henman, and a wide circle of friends who were like family to him. He was predeceased by his beloved mother, Yvonne Moon, and grandmothers, Clara Arnold and Virginia Henman.
In accordance with his wishes, a private funeral service will be held to honor his life. The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to the people of Belize, friends, family, and associates for their overwhelming support during this time. May the love and spirit of Apple Blue continue to live within us all, as we remember and celebrate a life well-lived.
