Antonio "Tony" Gizzi

Antonio "Tony" Gizzi, beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend, passed away surrounded by family and the memories of a life well-lived at age 84. Born on November 7, 1941, in Jersey City, NJ, Tony was the cherished son of the late John and Rose Martuci. Throughout his life, Tony was known for his warm and friendly demeanor, a trait that endeared him to many. He was predeceased by his loving parents, his brother Peter, and his "special son," Kirk Asp. Tony leaves behind his devoted wife, Marsha, who shared his life and filled it with adventure and love for 12 wonderful years. Tony also leaves his brother John and sister-in-law Diann Greco, his two sons, Marc and Brian, William Seaman, and his treasured granddaughter, Briana Gizzi, along with his honorary daughter, Julie Valenti. Tony's journey began in Jersey City, where his friendships with the "Jordan Avenue Associates" blossomed from kindergarten days into lifelong bonds, strengthened over card games and Italian dinners. Formal education didn't suit him and he had no direction at 18, leading him to enlist in the U.S. Army. He often said that this was the "Best Decision I ever made!" There he embraced discipline and responsibility, which served as the foundation for his future success as an entrepreneur. He started his career as a real estate salesperson in New Jersey, then founding Gizzi Appraisal Services, which became a leading firm in the area. A pivotal vacation to Southwest Florida inspired Tony to relocate to warm, sunny Fort Myers in 1996, where he rebuilt his business, once again establishing Gizzi Appraisal Services as a leader in the SW Florida real estate community. His experience and the ability to establish solid relationships with Realtors, lenders and clients fostered the growth of the firm. Later his son Marc took the helm with Tony semi-retired and focusing on VA appraisals giving him more time for golf and enjoying the company's continuing success. Tony's vibrant personality made him a beloved figure at Riva Del Lago, where he lived for 20 years and made many, many wonderful friends. His passion for hospitality shone through during community events, where he was found at the grill or bar, making every gathering memorable. His love for the Gulf, fast boats, and fishing created cherished memories, especially those shared with Kirk catching snook off Captiva. Family gatherings for the holidays and cheering for the NY Giants were fun even if the victories were hard to come by in recent years. A man of many interests, Tony enjoyed travel, particularly cruising and loved visiting family in Italy. He delighted in sharing his culinary skills through Italian cooking sessions in his kitchen with "the Gizzi girls". His stories and laughter left a lasting impact on everyone who had the pleasure of knowing him. He lived life fully although unfortunately his body couldn't keep up. He actually was planning another cruise with Marsha while in the hospital at the end. He lived life fully and loved his friends who frequently traveled world-wide with him. A celebration of Tony's life will be held on November 7, 2026, at 11:00 AM in the Riva Del Lago Community Room, located at 14350 Riva Del Lago Dr, Fort Myers. The family invites all who knew Tony to bring a story to share, honoring the joy he brought into their lives flavored by his Italian-American flair. If you wish, In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made in Tony's memory to a charity of your choice. Tony's legacy of love, friendship, and laughter will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew him.
