Antonio D. Lopez, a beloved husband, brother, uncle, and friend, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on September 21, 2026, after a valiant battle against illness. Born on June 13, 1961, in Amarillo, Texas, Antonio was a beacon of warmth and kindness to all who knew him.
Antonio was the cherished son of the late Antonio R. Lopez and Antonia Lopez. He grew up in a household that was rich in love and laughter, values that he carried with him throughout his life. Antonio's generous spirit and infectious smile left an indelible mark on everyone he encountered.
On June 26, 2004, Antonio married the love of his life, Fernando Contreras. Together, they built a life filled with joy, adventure, and unwavering support for one another. Their union was a testament to true love and partnership, serving as an inspiration to many.
Antonio is survived by his devoted husband, Fernando, and his siblings, who were his lifelong companions: brothers Luis Lopez and his wife Lisa, Dominic Lopez and his wife Cindy; and sisters Carmen Irpino and her husband Steve, Tina Brown and her husband Ken, and Julia Gabby and her husband Joe. He was also a proud and loving uncle to numerous nieces and nephews and was blessed with two grandchildren who brought immense joy to his life.
Antonio's legacy is one of love, resilience, and generosity. He touched the lives of everyone around him with his compassion and understanding. Despite the challenges he faced, Antonio remained a source of strength and positivity, and his memory will continue to inspire those who had the privilege of knowing him.
A celebration of Antonio's life will be held on September 29, 2026, at 4:00 PM at Castillo Funeral Home. Family and friends are invited to gather in remembrance and to honor a life well-lived.
