It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved Anton DeanteHurst, who departed this life on April 21, 2026, at the tender age of 33. Born on January 13, 1993, in Augusta, Georgia, Anton was a beacon of light and love, whose presence enriched the lives of all who knew him.
Anton was a devoted father, son, brother, and friend. His memory will be cherished by his daughter, Zy'Keria Dawson, who was the center of his world and the source of his greatest pride. Anton's love for Zy'Keria was boundless, and he leaves behind a legacy of love and dedication.
He was the cherished son of Shella Brister and Anthony Hurst, and stepson to Michael Brister and Felica Hurst. Anton's family was his foundation, and he shared a special bond with each member. Preceded in death by his maternal grandmother, Minnie Holmes, Anton is now reunited with her in eternal peace.
Anton was surrounded by a loving family, including his uncles Bennie Holmes Jr., Rodney Holmes, Terry Holmes, and his aunts Carla Hilton, Sandra Holmes, and Angela Hurst-Jackson. He was also a caring sibling to Lashella Holmes, Martin Holmes, Endya Brister, Nohdia Brister, Raffi Hurst, and Michael Brister. His extended family, including a host of cousins and relatives, mourn the loss of a man who was as generous with his heart as he was with his time.
Anton was a man of great intellect and ambition, having achieved multiple degrees throughout his life. His thirst for knowledge and commitment to excellence were evident in all his endeavors, leaving an indelible mark on those who had the privilege of learning and working alongside him.
A service to celebrate Anton's life will be held on May 2, 2026, at 11:00 AM at the C A Reid Sr Memorial Funeral Home, located at 314 Laney Walker Blvd, Augusta, GA 30901. Family, friends, and all who were touched by Anton's kindness and spirit are invited to join in honoring his life and legacy.
