Antoinette Roberts, a beloved matriarch and cherished friend, passed away peacefully on April 1, 2026, at the age of 81. Born on September 26, 1944, in Toledo, Ohio, Antoinette was the daughter of Louie Lucas and Flora Speaks, who instilled in her a deep appreciation for family and the simple joys of life.
Throughout her life, Antoinette was a beacon of love and laughter, known for her warm spirit and generous heart. She was predeceased by her devoted husband, Gene E. Roberts; her son, Glenn L. Roberts; her brothers, Gene Lucas and Steve Garrison; and her sister, Nata Current. Despite these profound losses, Antoinette's resilience and strength inspired all who knew her.
Antoinette is survived by her two loving daughters, Shelly A. Milliron and her partner Ray Keil, and Lisa M. Reed and her husband Rick Reed, who carry forward her legacy with grace and devotion. Her grandchildren, Britani Kyser (Mike Kyser), Lindsay Geelen (Soren Geelen), Joseph Milliron, Madison Reed, and Logan Reed, were her pride and joy, and she delighted in watching them grow. Antoinette was also blessed with six great-grandchildren: Ava, Alaina, and Preston Kyser; Declan and Rylie Geelen; and Santino Mancia, each of whom brought her immense happiness and pride.
For 26 years, Antoinette dedicated herself to the Maumee City Schools as a bus driver, where she became a cherished figure in the community. Her commitment to ensuring the safety and well-being of the children she transported was matched only by her infectious humor, which brightened the lives of students and colleagues alike.
Antoinette had a profound love for flowers and gardening, finding solace and beauty in the simple act of nurturing life. Her garden was a vibrant tapestry that mirrored her colorful personality, and she often shared the fruits of her labor with friends and family during joyful gatherings. These gatherings, filled with laughter and love, were a testament to her belief in the importance of quality time with those she held dear.
Her sense of humor was legendary, and her laughter was a gift that she shared freely, lifting the spirits of everyone around her. Antoinette had an extraordinary ability to find joy in the everyday, transforming ordinary moments into cherished memories.
The family invites all who knew Antoinette to celebrate her life and the indelible mark she left on the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to know her. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to local gardening clubs or educational programs that support children’s well-being, causes close to Antoinette’s heart.
