In Loving Memory

Anthony Jerome Wallington
September 24, 1959 — September 22, 2026
Anthony Wallington, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend, passed away peacefully on September 22, 2026, at the age of 66, just two days shy of his 67th birthday. Born on September 24, 1959, in the warm embrace of North Carolina, Anthony left this world surrounded by his devoted family and cherished friends, after a courageous battle with a lengthy illness.
Anthony was the treasured son of the late Herbert and Maxine Wadelington. He was predeceased by his parents, his son Anthony Wilson, his brother Timothy R. Wadelington, his uncle Anthony Harris, his maternal and paternal grandparents, and his father-in-law Williams Briggs. In this time of sorrow, he is lovingly remembered by his wife of 37 years, Sherri Wallington, his two sons Justin L. Wallington (Alma) and Joshua L. Wallington (Jenine), his two bonus daughters Sasha Vines (Karl) and Brianna Hatley, and his two godchildren James and Jasmine Fryer. Anthony's legacy continues through his five grandchildren, Amya, Jakhi, Ariah, Joshaun, and Justin Jr. who brought him immense joy and pride. He leaves behind a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Anthony and Sherri's love story began on June 24, 1989, when they pledged their lives to each other. Their union was a testament to enduring love, standing the test of time and life's challenges. Their home was a haven of warmth and laughter, always open to family and friends.
A proud alumnus of Page High School, Anthony dedicated much of his professional life to the automotive industry, working for 24 years at Jack Pickard Volvo and five years at Slates Used Cars. His work was not just a career but a testament to his steadfast dedication and commitment.
A man of deep faith, Anthony found spiritual solace and strength within his church community. He was an esteemed member of the Miracle Outreach Ministry, where he was ordained as a Deacon on August 13, 2006. Following the passing of his pastor, Anthony continued his spiritual journey at the Vineyard Outreach Ministry under the guidance of Pastor Isaiah L. Waddell, where he continued to serve with devotion and grace. He attended church with his lifelong friend Pastor Norman King of VICTOR'S Outreach.
In the words of his loving family, "I thought of you today, but that is nothing new. I thought about you yesterday and days before that too. I think of you in silence, I often speak your name. All I have are memories and your picture in a frame. Your memory is a keepsake from which I'll never part. God has you in His arms, I have you in my heart."
Anthony Wallington's memory will forever be cherished, and his spirit will live on in the hearts of those who were fortunate to know and love him.
