April 12, 1996 — July 22, 2026

It is with heavy hearts and profound sadness that we announce the passing of Anthony Thomas, who left this world far too soon on July 22, 2026, at the age of 30. Born on April 12, 1996, in Rockford, Illinois, Anthony was a beacon of joy and warmth, cherished by all who had the privilege of knowing him. Anthony was the beloved son of Shalon and Stevie Thomas, who nurtured him into the remarkable person he became. He is survived by his devoted brothers, Stevie and Jared, and his loving sisters, Shayla and Lyly. Anthony's legacy also lives on in the hearts of many aunts, uncles, cousins, and a wide circle of friends who considered him family. From a young age, Anthony found joy in the simple pleasures of life. He was an avid basketball player, gracing the court with agility and passion. The serenity of fishing brought him peace, a pastime he often shared with those he loved. His talent extended beyond sports and into the arts, where he expressed himself beautifully through drawing. A man of many talents, Anthony was also renowned for his culinary skills, often bringing people together with his delicious creations. Anthony's vibrant personality made him the life of every gathering. His laughter was infectious, his spirit uplifting, and his kindness boundless. Those who met him never forgot the warmth of his smile and the generous nature he carried with him. He had an innate ability to make everyone feel at ease and welcome, leaving an indelible mark on their hearts. A private funeral ceremony will be held to honor Anthony's life. As we remember Anthony, his family kindly asks that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to a charity of your choice, a gesture that reflects the giving spirit Anthony embodied throughout his life. Though Anthony's time with us was brief, his impact was profound. He leaves behind memories that will be cherished forever, a testament to a life lived with love, laughter, and boundless joy. May we all carry forward his legacy by embracing life with the same passion and kindness that Anthony did each day. May you rest in peace, dear Anthony. You will forever be missed but never forgotten.
