With heavy hearts but cherished memories, we announce the peaceful passing of Anthony J. Forte on March 6, 2026, at the age of 91. After a courageous seven-year battle with Alzheimer's, Anthony left this world at his home, surrounded by the love of his devoted family. Born on July 26, 1934, in Brooklyn, NY, Anthony was the beloved son of the late James and Theresa Forte.
Anthony was preceded in death by his parents and his nine siblings: Constance, Vincenza, Jennie, Terry, Rose, Jim, Christopher, Marie, and Carmela. Their reunion in the hereafter is surely a joyful one.
Anthony's legacy of love and dedication lives on through his surviving family, which includes his cherished daughter, Christine, and his treasured granddaughter, Tonianne. He is also survived by his beloved nephews, Robert and Terry Earley, and his great-nephews, Jon Peter and Steven Earley. Though he leaves behind only one grandchild, the impact of his love extends far beyond, touching the hearts of many generations.
A proud graduate of James Madison High School and Brooklyn College, Anthony's professional journey led him to a distinguished career at Marine Transport Lines, where he served as a Marine Purchasing Agent. His remarkable contributions were pivotal in supporting the company's efforts during the successful operation of the MARAD Ready Reserve Vessels in both Operation Desert Shield/Desert Storm and Operation Iraqi Freedom in 2003. Anthony's dedication and professionalism left an indelible mark on all who worked alongside him.
Beyond his career, Anthony found immense joy in spending time with his loved ones and friends, particularly when accompanying his granddaughter. His strength, resilience, and unwavering spirit were a source of inspiration to all who knew him. Anthony was a man of exceptional kindness and generosity, always putting others before himself and giving selflessly to those in need.
Anthony's life will be celebrated with a service on March 8, 2026, at 3:00 PM at Scalia Funeral Home, located at 28 Eltingville Blvd, Staten Island, NY 10312. Family, friends, and all whose lives were touched by Anthony are warmly invited to join in honoring the life of a truly remarkable man.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made in Anthony's memory to an Alzheimer's research foundation of your choice, continuing his legacy of giving and hope for a brighter future.
