Anthony J. Forte

July 26, 1934 — March 6, 2026

It is with heavy hearts and a profound sense of loss that we announce the passing of Anthony J. Forte, who departed this world on March 6, 2026, at the age of 91. Born in the bustling borough of Brooklyn, NY, on July 26, 1934, Anthony lived a life marked by love, dedication, and service to others. He left us peacefully at home, surrounded by the love of his cherished daughter, Christine, and his beloved granddaughter, Tonianne, after a courageous seven-year battle with Alzheimer's. Anthony was the treasured son of James and Theresa Forte, who instilled in him the values of kindness, generosity, and resilience. Preceded in death by his parents and his siblings Constance, Vincenza, Jennie, Terry, Rose, Jim, Christopher, Marie, and Carmela, Anthony was the last of his generation in the Forte family. Yet, he leaves behind a legacy that will resonate through the lives of those he touched. Anthony's educational journey began at James Madison High School and continued at Brooklyn College, where he cultivated a sharp mind and a persistent curiosity for the world. His professional life was dedicated to Marine Transport Lines, where he served as a Marine Purchasing Agent. His work was instrumental in supporting the company’s efforts during critical moments in history, including the MARAD Ready Reserve Vessels' operations in both Operation Desert Shield/Desert Storm and Operation Iraqi Freedom in 2003. A man of remarkable strength, resilience, and unwavering spirit, Anthony inspired everyone who had the privilege to know him. His kindness and generosity were hallmarks of his character, always placing the needs of others before his own. Whether it was family, friends, or even strangers, Anthony's impact was felt deeply and widely. His greatest joys were found in the simple pleasures of life, particularly in the company of his family. He cherished every moment spent with his granddaughter, Tonianne, creating memories that will be treasured for generations. Anthony found happiness in being surrounded by loved ones, sharing stories, laughter, and love. Anthony is survived by his devoted daughter Christine, his loving granddaughter Tonianne, his nephews Robert and Terry Earley, and his great-nephews Jon Peter and Steven Earley. Though he did not have great-grandchildren, his legacy of love and kindness will undoubtedly be passed down through his family. Family and friends are invited to celebrate Anthony's remarkable life on March 8, 2026, at 3:00 PM at Scalia Funeral Home, located at 28 Eltingville Blvd, Staten Island, NY 10312. We will gather to honor a man who gave so much of himself to those around him, and whose spirit will forever remain in our hearts. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to an Alzheimer’s charity of your choice, in memory of Anthony's valiant fight against the disease. Though Anthony J. Forte has left this earthly realm, his spirit and the love he bestowed upon us will remain eternal. May he rest in peace, reunited with those who have gone before him, in the gentle embrace of the Almighty.
