In Loving Memory of Anthony Harold Cope It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Anthony Harold Cope, who left this world on March 27, 2026, after a long and courageous battle with cancer. Anthony departed peacefully, with his beloved family by his side at the Dorothy Ley Hospice in Toronto. He was 68 years old. Born on November 8, 1957, in Toronto, Ontario, Anthony was the cherished son of the late Frederick and Marilyn Cope. His parents instilled in him the values of hard work, compassion, and resilience—qualities that Anthony carried throughout his life. He is lovingly remembered by his partner, Wendy Flewelling, his children Michael (Kaitlyn), Katherine (Chris), and Victoria Majdan (Adrian), and his adored granddaughter, Aurora Majdan. Anthony is also survived by his sisters, Patti-Ann Cope and Suzanne Giles (Don), as well as numerous nieces and nephews who held a special place in his heart. Anthony's early years were marked by a dedication to education and a passion for sports. He earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Western Ontario, where he not only excelled academically but also shined on the golf course. A lifelong passionate golfer, Anthony was a treasured member of the Weston Golf & Country Club and proudly recognized as the team MVP in his final year at university. Following his graduation, Anthony embarked on a career that began with his involvement in a family business, a journey that laid the foundation for his subsequent success in project management. He was known for his remarkable leadership, integrity, and the ability to bring people together to achieve common goals. His professional accomplishments were a source of pride, but it was the relationships he built and the positive impact he had on those around him that truly defined his career. Beyond his professional life, Anthony was an enthusiast of all things aviation. His love for the skies took him on adventures, including a memorable tour of Boeing’s Factory near Seattle, WA, which fulfilled a lifelong dream and added another chapter to his storied life. Anthony's family wishes to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the staff at Dorothy Ley Hospice, Sunrise of Mississauga, and Oakville Trafalgar Memorial Hospital for their exceptional kindness and care during Anthony's final days. Their support provided comfort and dignity to Anthony and his loved ones during a difficult time. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to the Canadian Cancer Society, an organization that was dear to Anthony.
