Anthony Glenn Kendrick, cherished husband, father, and friend, passed away unexpectedly at home in the comforting presence of his family on September 9, 2026. Born on May 22, 1955, in Lufkin, Texas, Anthony lived a life full of love, laughter, and dedication to those he held dear. Anthony was the beloved son of Elbert and Sue Kendrick, who predeceased him, along with his dear sister, Barbara Elliot. He is survived by his devoted wife of 33 years, Cynthia M. Kendrick (Mendez), with whom he shared a bond of unwavering love and companionship. Together, they raised two remarkable children, Matthew P. Kendrick and Kailey R. Kendrick, who were his pride and joy. Anthony's family was his world, and he cherished every moment spent with them, whether it was relaxing at home or adventuring on family vacations. A proud graduate of Lufkin High School, Anthony pursued higher education at Sam Houston State University, where he earned his Bachelor of Science degree. His career took him to the Texas Department of Family and Protective Services in Austin, Texas, where he contributed his skills as a Systems Analyst V since 2019. Anthony's colleagues will remember him not only for his professional acumen but for his warm smile and quick wit, often brightening the office with his famous "dad jokes." Anthony was a man of many talents and passions. He found joy in woodworking, cooking, and creating with his hands, leaving behind beautiful reminders of his craft. His generosity and kindness left a lasting impression on those fortunate enough to know him. A true gentleman, Anthony had a unique ability to make everyone feel valued and at ease. In addition to his immediate family, Anthony is survived by his loving mother-in-law, Yolanda Mendez, his brother-in-law, Trey Mendez, and a circle of close friends and extended family who will forever hold him in their hearts. A service to celebrate Anthony’s life will take place on September 18, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. at Ramsey Funeral Home and Crematory, located at 5600 Williams Drive, Georgetown, TX 78633. For those unable to attend in person, a livestream will be available through the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made in Anthony's memory to a charity of your choice, reflecting the spirit of generosity and kindness that defined his life.
