Anthony Ellison JR December 3, 1950 – August 2, 2026 With heavy hearts and profound gratitude for a life well-lived, we announce the passing of Anthony Ellison JR, a beloved father, grandfather, brother, and friend. Anthony was born on December 3, 1950, in Charleston, South Carolina, to Anthony Ellison SR and Sarah Wilson, who both preceded him in death Anthony was a man of great character and warmth, known for his endearing smile and a keen sense of humor that could brighten any room. His kindness and generosity left an indelible mark on everyone blessed to have known him. Anthony served his country with distinction in the United States Air Force, dedicating a significant part of his life to military service. Following his time in the Air Force, he continued his commitment to service, working diligently in civil service for 30 years. His dedication to his work and his community was unwavering, and he carried these values into every aspect of his life. A devoted member of the Lovey Hills Baptist Church, Anthony found joy and solace in his faith, which he shared with those around him through his actions and words. Anthony’s personal life was rich with love and family. He married Joann Taylor in June 1973, and together they welcomed two children, Ronnette Charlotte Ellison and Anthony Troy Ellison. His second marriage was to Della Mays, who preceded him in death. Anthony is also survived by his stepchildren, Evangeline (Willie), Tasha, Tavarus, and Richard. He leaves behind a legacy through his grandchildren, Anthony, Anthony, Bokia, and Miyah, as well as his step-grandchildren, Aaron, Xavier (Roxanne), Antavieus Jr (Valentina) Ashleigh, April, Antavione, Jessica, Jesse, Alicia, Jordan, Jacole, Esjen, Kyrie, Quincola, Merce, Demetrios, and Sean. His family further blossoms with the presence of three great-grandchildren Anthony the 5th generation, Robin, and Jackson Anthony is survived by his siblings, Martha and Freddie (Carol), and cherished his close relationship with Daisy Ann. He was predeceased by his brother, Cumsee Anderson, and his second wife, Della. His children, Ronnette and Anthony, hold their father close in their hearts, expressing their admiration and love through heartfelt messages: - "Daddy, you were my hero. A part of my heart will always belong to you. There is a void in my heart that can never be filled." - Ronnette - "Daddy, I carry your name & I will cherish our time together.
