Anthony Edward Williams, beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend, quietly departed this life on September 25, 2026, enveloped in the love of his cherished wife and daughters. Born on July 7, 1961, in Baltimore City, Anthony was a beacon of joy and kindness, whose life was marked by a deep commitment to family, faith, and community. Anthony was preceded in death by his loving parents, Virgie Eloise Reed and Joseph Henry Williams, and his dear brother, Paul Eric Williams. He leaves behind his devoted wife, Barbara Williams, with whom he shared a beautiful marriage since October 2018. He is also survived by his treasured daughters, Sharika, Carmisha, Sherrie, Barbara, and Sheila, and twelve adoring grandchildren: Ray, London, Melakia, Layla, Carson, Joc, twins, and Lil Sheila. His siblings, Sheila and Joann, also carry forward his legacy of love and laughter. A proud graduate of Baltimore City College, Anthony dedicated his professional life to serving the Baltimore community. He worked tirelessly with the Baltimore City Fire Department and the Baltimore City Correctional Facilities in Jessup, Maryland. His work was not just a career but a testament to his commitment to protect and uplift those around him. Anthony's faith was a cornerstone of his life. He accepted Jesus Christ as his personal Savior at a young age and was baptized at Ebenezer AME Church in South Baltimore. His faith guided him throughout life, and he was a source of spiritual strength for his family and friends. His passion extended beyond his professional and spiritual life. As an active member of the Maryland State Umpire Association, Anthony's love for sports and his community was evident. He was a familiar face at school field trips and local sports events, always cheering his grandchildren on with pride and enthusiasm. Anthony was deeply involved in his community and known for his generous spirit and warm heart. He was a beloved member of his rehabilitation center, where he was cherished by everyone he met. Despite being an amputee, Anthony faced life with indomitable courage and resilience, refusing to let his circumstances define him. His quick wit, infectious laughter, and compassionate nature endeared him to all. Anthony had a unique ability to make everyone feel valued and accepted. His humor and kindness left an indelible mark on the hearts of many, and his legacy of love will endure in those who were fortunate enough to know him. Anthony’s life was a testament to the power of kindness and the impact one individual can have on those around them. He was a blessing to all who knew him, and his memory will forever be a treasure. The family of Anthony Edward Williams would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude for the outpouring of love and support during this difficult time. Services to honor and celebrate Anthony's life will be held at Wylie Funeral Home, located at 701 N. Mount Street, Baltimore, MD 21217.
