It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Anthony Dewayne Watson, Sr., a beloved husband, father, son, and brother. Anthony passed away on August 28, 2026, leaving behind a legacy of love, dedication, and kindness that touched all who knew him.
Born on February 11, 1979, in San Antonio, Texas, Anthony was the cherished son of Charles Willie Watson and Shirley Ann Watson. He grew up in a close-knit family that instilled in him the values of hard work, love, and resilience. Anthony was a pillar of strength and a beacon of warmth to his family and friends.
He was united in marriage to his devoted wife, Eureka Sheree Watson, and together they shared 22 wonderful years filled with laughter, love, and companionship. Their bond was a testament to a true partnership, and together they built a beautiful life with their three children: Anthony DeWayne Watson, Jr., Kyran Anthony Watson, and Adarian Deshawn Watson. Anthony was immensely proud of his children, and his love for them was evident in all he did.
Anthony was preceded in death by his father, Charles W. Watson, his grandparents, James Watson, Sr. and Maxine Watson, and his grandfather, Wallace M. Brown, Sr. Their memories remained a guiding light in his life, and he honored them through his actions and the way he lived.
Anthony's professional life was marked by dedication and perseverance. He spent numerous years at the 501 Restaurant, where he made many lifelong friends and created cherished memories. Later, he continued his career at Nice-Pak, where he was respected and admired by his colleagues for his hard work and integrity.
In addition to his immediate family, Anthony leaves behind his loving mother, Shirley Ann Watson, and his siblings: Michelle Jackson, Calvin Jackson (wife Vicki), Reggie Watson (wife Marsha), Charo Galloway, Nicholas Watson, Marcus Watson (wife Ashley), Charles Watson (wife Dara), and Kim Phillips (husband Carl). He also leaves behind his nieces Shiphrah Israel, Kynlee Phillips, and Grace Watson his nephews Ron Hubbard, Reggie Watson Jr., Romecio Watson, Rechasea Watson, Ralyric Watson, Kamden Phillips, Khalil Phillips, Markese Watson, and Riley Watson, a host of great nieces and nephews, extended family members, and friends who will treasure his life and legacy.
A celebration of Anthony's life will be held on September 5, 2026, at Emerson Memorial Chapel. Family, friends, and all whose lives were enriched by Anthony are invited to pay their respects and honor the memory of a truly remarkable man.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to a memorial tree in Anthony's memory, symbolizing life, growth, and the enduring impact he had on all who knew him.
Anthony Dewayne Watson, Sr. was a man who lived with purpose, loved with all his heart, and left a legacy that will continue to inspire those who were fortunate enough to know him. He will be dearly missed and fondly remembered.
