Anthony David Steele July 6, 1941 – April 20, 2026 Anthony David Steele, fondly known as Tony, was born on July 6, 1941 in Cleveland, Ohio. He passed away peacefully on April 20, 2026. Tony lived a life that was as rich and full as it was generous and kind. He was a beloved son, brother, uncle, and friend whose warmth touched everyone he met. Tony was the cherished son of the late Minnie Greer, who predeceased him and whom he loved and adored throughout his life. He was also predeceased by his sister, Gladys Hodges, and brothers, Larry and Paul Steele. Tony is survived by his loving brothers, Alan Steele and William Greer; sisters, Barbara and Martina Steele, Penny Phiffer, and Kathy Moore. He leaves behind many nieces and nephews who hold him close in their hearts. Tony attended Cleveland Public Schools, and after completing his education, he embarked on a long, fulfilling career at the Republic Steel and US Steel Companies. His work ethic was unparalleled, and his dedication was admired by all who had the pleasure of working alongside him. Tony's career spanned several decades until he reached the well-deserved age of retirement. Tony had a way of making each person feel valued and cherished, often calling just to check in and say hello. His love for his family was the cornerstone of his life, and his gentle presence will be sorely missed. Tony was an exceptional card player, delighting in the friendly competition of a good game with loved ones. His joy was simple and sincere; nothing made him happier than a steaming cup of coffee, a hearty plate of meat, the thrill of a lottery ticket, and the company of a pretty girl. Our hearts are heavy with the void left by Tony's passing, yet we find solace in the beautiful memories he has left behind. As his family, we continue to feel his presence in the echoes of laughter, the warmth of a shared moment, and the silent tears that fall in his absence. Our love for Tony is eternal, and he will forever live in our hearts. A special message from his family reads: "Our hearts still ache in sadness, silent tears still flow, for what it meant to lose you, no one will ever know. Although you can't be here with us, we are truly not apart. Until our final breath is taken, you will be living in our hearts. You are a wonderful brother, and we love you very much." Tony’s life was a testament to the power of love, laughter, and kindness. His legacy will continue to inspire us all. Lovingly submitted by Barbara, with deep affection and respect.
