July 27, 1972 — October 4, 2026

Anthony Carell Harris, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend, was born on July 27, 1972, in Charlotte, North Carolina. On October 4, 2026, he left this world peacefully in his sleep, leaving behind a legacy of love, kindness, and cherished memories. Anthony was the precious son of the late Mary Harris and Colly Wilks, and the grandchild of the Harris family, who welcomed him with open arms in the afterlife. He is survived by his adoring wife, Debra Larry Harris, with whom he built a life filled with love and laughter. His legacy lives on through his children, Cherity Minton and Jessica Lovely, who carry forward the values and wisdom he imparted. A devoted grandfather, Anthony doted on his eight grandchildren: Sunshine, Precious DJ, Kreed, Ky Reed, Jacy, Jr, and Milly. His eyes would light up at the mere mention of their names, and he took immense pride in their growth and achievements. Anthony's life was marked by his unwavering devotion to his family and his community. A proud graduate of East Mecklenburg High School, he was an active leader of the Boys Club, where he guided and mentored many young lives. His boundless enthusiasm for hunting and fishing was infectious, and he had an uncanny ability to build anything, always knowing how to "hit a nail on the head." Those who knew Anthony will remember his enormous heart and his ability to listen intently to any conversation. He had no enemies, only friends, and he was a man of deep faith, devoted to God and his teachings. In honor of Anthony's wishes, a private funeral ceremony will be held. However, family and close friends are invited to gather for a balloon release on October 24, 2026, at the Big Pond, to celebrate the life of a remarkable man who touched so many. The family kindly requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to a charity of your choice in Anthony's memory. His spirit will forever remain in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to know him.
